Diana entered the school gate, her mind preoccupied with the upcoming exams. Now, she had to focus on her studies if she wanted to ace them. As she entered the classroom, Krystal pounced on her like a kitten, her eyes wide with distress.
"Dee, guess what?!"
Krystal's voice trembled, like she was about to spill a dark secret.
"What's wrong, Kris?"
Diana’s eyes widened and her forehead wrinkled with distressKrystal's face contorted in a mixture of sadness and despair. "There's a new SEAT ARRANGEMENT..." she trailed off, her voice cracking.
Diana's mind raced with worst-case scenarios. Please don't say we're separated. Please don't say we can't sit together anymore.
And then, like a punch to the gut, Krystal wailed, "We have separate seats, Dee! We can't sit together anymoreeeee!"
They reluctantly took their new seats. But as Diana looked at her right, her eyes met Krystal’s , and a small smile crept into her face. They might not be bench mates anymore , but fate has still smiled upon them - they were in the adjacent rows, close enough to hear each other's voice for gossiping.
And finally, their new bench-mates finally arrived, and Diana's eyes widened in surprise.
“Andrew?” Diana’s voice in confusion. Her old friend and confidant, plopped down beside her, flashing his signature warm smile. She couldn't have asked for a better seatmate! Andrew was the epitome of kindness, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting word. Their friendship started on Diana's first day at school.Meanwhile, Krystal had no idea about her bench mate. It was Zoey, another dear friend of Diana's, who had been part of their school's golden trio, along with Selina and Diana.Though Selina had drifted apart, Zoey remained a cherished friend.
As the four of them settled into their new seating arrangement, Diana felt a sense of gratitude. Despite the initial disappointment, fate had brought her close to not one, but two friends.

As the days went by, Krystal and Zoey's friendship blossomed into an unbreakable bond. They shared secrets, promises, and laughter, their connection growing stronger with each passing moment. Diana watched from the sidelines, her emotions torn in two.
On one hand, she was relieved that Krystal could be made more friends and could be happy.
But on the other hand, unknowingly Diana didn't feel right. She didn't know what she was feeling. Is it jealousy? But should have a right to be jealous of her own best friend? She couldn't help but feel left out, replaced by this new, vibrant connection between Krystal and Zoey.Diana's mind wrestled with conflicting feelings. She was happy for Krystal, truly, but a part of her felt like she was losing her best friend. Krystal's affection towards Zoey seemed so natural but it was a bit too much from Diana’s perspective. She couldn't quite put her finger on why it bothered her so much, but it did.
While thinking about these a small tap on the shoulder made Diana face the stranger. Andrew , yes it was him.
“You seem bothered about something!”
Andrew asked.
“No nothing.. I'm good”
“Krystal and Zoey… Right?” Andrew’s eyes were staring at them but his words were straight to the point to catch Diana's attention. She immediately looked at him , trying to find the answer of why he suddenly said that out of blue. “What about them?” she stuttered.
Andrew looked at Diana and smiled “nothing” and walked away.
