Just a short chapter to tie things up before the angst 😏

"How are you feeling about today, mhh?" Scarlett murmurs quietly she absentmindedly trails the backs of her fingers against the little ones cheek.

Aurora was suckling softly against her breast, eyes fluttering as she takes the sound of her mama's voice, her touch, and smell. It was nighttime now, and after arriving back from the mall, the rest of their day had been pretty uneventful. Aurora had napped, Scarlett had gotten on with some housework, and Olivia had caught up on much needed sleep.

They had enjoyed a quiet dinner together before both mothers had given the little one a bath, Aurora basking in her both her mother's attention. This brought them to now, Scarlett giving the little one her bedtime feed as Olivia finishes up in the bathroom.

Aurora simply let us out a quiet grunt as she lays contently in her mothers arms, and whilst it wasn't exactly a yes or no answer, Scarlett takes it for what it is and simply let out a quiet laugh. She leans down and presses her lips against Aurora's forehead, earning herself a pleased sigh in response.

A few more quiet moments past before the bathroom door opens, Olivia emerging in the threshold and flicking the bathroom light off behind her. Scarlett couldn't help but smile at the sight of her wife, watching as she slides into the bed next to them and covers herself up with the blankets.

"So," Olivia sighs as she settles against the headboard of the bed, "today was eventful."

Scarlett couldn't help but laugh softly as she continues to absentmindedly pat the little ones padded behind, "It certainly was." she agrees, letting out a quiet sigh as she rests her head against the headboard of the bed.

"She seemed okay about the new rules, right?" Olivia turns her head to face her, momentarily glancing down at the nursing little one before returning her focus to Scarlett.

Scarlett hums, "She didn't create a fuss and was pretty much a normal self throughout dinner, so I'd say yes. She knows she can come talk to us if she feels otherwise."

Her fingers gently readjust Aurora's mouth around her breast when due to her sleepy haze, she partly unlatches herself. The little one lets out a small, sleepy huff as her suckles deepen just slightly, her hand rising to instinctively clutch of mother's breast to her face. The flesh of it spills over tiny fingers, even more than usual due to the fact the milk had caused them to increase in size.

Scarlett rests her own at the top of it, giving the small appendage a soft squeeze to silently let the little one know that they wouldn't be taken away.

"I guess you're right." Olivia accepts, rolling onto her side and using her arm as a makeshift pillow. After a few quiet seconds, she reaches out to gently trial the tip of her finger against the palm of the little one's free hand.

Whether it be instinct or something else entirely, Aurora's hand wraps immediately and entirely around a single one of her fingers. It almost immediately brings a smile to her face, and she lets out a soft sigh of content before allowing her eyes to flutter closed.

Scarlett watches with a tender smile as both her girls slowly drift off to asleep. She runs a fond hand through Olivia's hair, allowing the tips of her fingers to trail softly over the warm skin of her cheek as she pulls her hand away.

"Goodnight baby." She murmurs softly, eyes lingering on her wife's body for a moment before bringing her attention over to the snoozing little one.

"Should we try you with your crib tonight?" She muses, the suckles against her breast now soft signalling she was being used as no more than a pacifier. Aurora huffs against her, her breath warm against her skin, and Scarlett readily takes this as a warning that no, trying the crib tonight would just end as it always does; with the little one in their bed.

Scarlett smiles, "Okay, you can stay with mama and mommy." She whispers, gently unlatching Aurora from her breast and replacing it with a pacifier.

The little ones faces scrunches up in distaste at the action, and Scarlett just about manages to refrain from laughing as she carefully eases the little one onto the bed in between her and her wife.

"Shh. It's night night time." She was quick to sooth when Aurora somewhat rouses and lets out a quiet whine, placing her hand on the little ones tummy and trailing the pad of her thumb over the pyjama covered skin. Aurora instinctively reaches for her hand, tiny fingers wrapping around just two of her own prompting the corners of her lips to quirk up into a tender smile.

"Good girl," she whispers, leaning down to place her lips against the little one's forehead. "Goodnight sweet girl. Mama and mommy love you."
