NO ESCAPE. THE RUNAWAY

CHAPTER 10

Inside the medicine den, panic arose within AdderFur and AlligatorCreek. Everyone was already fine and resting from the battle, except for WolfSpider. Her wounds were already infected, and she may only have a little bit of time left before she pass onto StarClan. BlackBird was nervously looking down at WolfSpider, his tail flicked impatiently as WolfSpider's breathing was becoming shallower.

"How much time does she have left...?" BlackBird asked.

"Not sure...could be days or seconds..." AdderFur sighed.

"I'll let you know if she makes it or not...you shouldn't skip your duties..." AdderFur smiled.

BlackBird shook his head. "MountianCreek is taking over for me for the day...he knows I need a break..." He nodded.

"Very well...more time for us to spend time together then..." She smirked.

"You're adorable..." He smiled.

"I'm gonna go get some herbs..." AlligatorCreek sighed. A blueish gray stripped tabby tom pushed his way through the clearing of DuskClan.

"Crest!" CrowStar inclined his head to the loner.

"Greetings CrowStar. My clan has struck great danger. DawnClan, SunsetClan, SunriseClan, and MorningClan refused to help us. We need a home. A real one. Our home got destroyed by a forest fire after the battle." The crest's ears drooped with a sigh.

"Very well. Of course, you're welcome in our camp and territory. MountianCreek set up some moss beds in the spare den." CrowStar ordered. The rest of Crest's group padded into DuskClan camp.

"We can help with anything of the clan. Heather help the medicine cat. Creek and Sini, keep watch as you do." Crest ordered. CrowStar dipped his head.

"CrowStar...I have an announcement. I am retiring...I'm becoming a queen soon...I'll move into the nursery once the kits are born..." AdderFur dipped her head.

"And I assume they're BlackBird's kits?" CrowStar raised a brow.

"Uhm...Yes..." AdderFur bent her head.

"Congratulations...I'll have a ceremony tonight at moonhigh." CrowStar bowed his head and padded back in his den.

"I'll show you around!" MountianCreek decided and exchanged a glance with DawnThorn.

"No need. We have been here before." Crest nodded. MountianCreek dipped his head to BlackBird who had just left. AdderFur was standing outside the medicine den with a sorrowful look, she shook her head, and she padded off to find CrowStar. MountianCreek's ears slightly flattened. BlackBird padded to find AdderFur, then went into her den. He looked down at the lifeless body before him and just pure screamed. Tears flooded down his cheeks as he dragged the body out of the den with hatred. He breathed heavily, hatred running through his veins.

"Oh no..." MountianCreek sighed. "You guys can make yourselves at home. I will be...in the warrior's den." He bowed his head and leaped off. Moonhigh began to raise CrowStar slowly padded up to the top of the high rock. He cleared his throat as everyone started gathering around. MountianCreek padded up to gather around the high rock.

"May all those old enough to watch the sun set and the evening rise, gather below the high boulder for a clan meeting..." CrowStar called. Everyone's ears flattened with gasps once they saw the body. "WolfSpider...has passed onto StarClan due to the battle with QuailSpot's Clan." CrowStar dipped his head. "We shall hold vigil tonight..." CrowStar stepped down off the rock as he nuzzled the dead, she-cat. "Goodbye WolfSpider..." CrowStar sighed and hopped back up the rock. Everyone gathered around saying their goodbyes to WolfSpider.
