I really need to stop waking up locked in a cage. I mean honestly how many times am I going to end up here. I scoffed as I leaned against the cold wet wall, mentally rolling my eyes. I glanced over myself realizing how skinny I have gotten.
I wonder how long I have been down here.
Obviously long enough to loose a good amount of weight. I can feel my spin pressing against the wall. I tried to ask for Regulus, to see if he may be down here with me. However, anytime I attempted to open my mouth nothing came out besides a burning sensation. I need water. I'll die down here if I go any longer without it.
"Good you're awake." I heard a girl speak from the door. I tried to force myself up to see who it could be but anytime I tried to move it felt like I would break in half. "Oh right. You probably can't speak. 3 days without water does things to people." She laughed slowly opening the door moving closer to me. I could see the blonde curls from here, I could finally recognize the voice.
Pandora.
"Water." She handed me standing above. "Drink it. We have to talk." She sighed sitting on the floor in front of me.
I tried to force my hand up to grab the glass from here, but I couldn't even bare to move. Even to save my life apparently. She rolled her eyes leaning in and slowly pouring the water in my mouth for me. I felt the energy hit me almost immediately, forcing my hand up to grab the glass and drink it all in one sip. "Greedy are we?" She scoffed pulling the half empty glass from me. "You get more once we talk. If you're honest maybe I will even bring you some crackers." She laughed setting the glass down beside her.
"How did it feel to kill who you called your best friend?" She asked.
"Shitty." I scoffed leaning my head back against the wall.
"Figured." She smiled before forcing more out. "Why did you run from us?"
"Are you kidding?" I laughed. One glance from her told me she wasn't. "Well, let's see. I was forced into marriage, had my memories tampered with, had lost my husband, regained him, lost my brother and everyone I know, found his brother, oh lost him too, then had to kill my best friend. I would say that sums it up."
She laughed again, almost mocking me. I don't understand how someone so kind could laugh at someone going through the things I am. Someone I once considered very close to me.
"Will you rejoin?"
"I would ask if you're joking again but I believe we both know the answer to that." We sat in silence for a moment before I forced myself to ask some questions. "My turn." I smiled. She nodded towards me giving the go ahead. "Where is my husband?"
"Don't ask questions you do not want the answer to Bells." She smiled.
"I won't ask again."
She pushed herself off the ground, knocking over the glass of water on her way up. She slowly walked to the door before pausing one last time and taking a glance at me. She brought a big smiled to her lips before whispering softly, but loud enough for me to know what she meant. "Dead." She shrugged before moving out the door and locking it behind her.
Pandora's POV
I prided myself on never lying when I was a student. I kept secrets more than some would bother to guess, but lie? That was never me. It felt easier than I expected, lying straight to her face. My master wants her as broken as she can get, he needs her rage he explains. She's more powerful than most think. I think he's full of shit, and she's just another useless pawn. She didn't do anything when they came and killed them, ripped me away from everyone I knew and threw me in among their ranks. She didn't come when I was tortured daily until I complied with them. If she was so powerful, then where was she?
I walked across the home to the other side before walking down similar steps with a glass of wine and a tray of food. Walking into a well lit soft room. A bed bigger than mine, bookshelves, anything anyone could want. I smiled as I entered the room. "Good Afternoon, cousin." I set the tray down on the bedside table.
"How is she?" He asked softly.
"She's okay, I just brought her some food and new books. We apologize for keeping you separate, but The Dark Lord wishes for it. He fears you would find a way out together."
He laughed as he picked up his fork, shoving green beans in his mouth. "We probably would."
See while we need her broken to become strong, we need him happy. He needs to believe she is well cared for and being taken care of. She is all that matters to him. He will do anything we ask as long as he knows she is okay. And who better to convince him of that than someone who cannot lie?
"I will ask if you can see her." I smiled before pushing myself off his bed and moving back towards the door. "Do you need anything?" I asked before making my way out.
"Nothing as long as she is okay." He smiled.
I made my way out of the hall containing the two of them and towards the drawing room where I will hope to find my master.
"How is the plan dear." He smiled with his bright eyes, the blue beaming at me across the room.
"The plan is going as we hoped, I broke the news of the death of her dear husband, and assured him she is well taken care of."
"Perfect." He smiled. "We can release her soon, let her use the rage she has sitting down there. Bring her food tomorrow, we need her strong."
