I digressed to scan the crowd for my parents. They were holding each other's hands with teary eyes. Then when my eyes landed on Dontae. The smile that lit up his face along with the wink he sent me when we made eye contact made a thousand butterflies erupt ecstatically in my tummy.
And in true Vannessa fashion, a hot red blush crept up my neck and settled right on my cheeks.
I cleared my throat.
