Chapter 14

Sage POV

After eating ice cream we just continue watching the stars shine on their own.

I never thought that I would be so comfortable with a person na nameet ko lang sa isang beach. But one thing is for sure I am grateful to him. He became my comfort person even in my moving on process.

It looks like he is my rebound kasi I publicly announced my relationship tapos kinasal pa. During that time wala pang 2 months nung nagbreak kami ni Lucas. But it's not something I should be concerned about since we agreed on this situation. And we both have agendas to fulfill.

"By the way, where are we going for 3 days?" I asked since ang random naman ng paglabas namin

"It's a secret, I want to surprise you." sabi niya while smiling widely

"Hindi mo ako bibigyan ng clue?"

"No, just prepare yourself. Ako na din maghahanda ng mga gagamitin mo."

"Why? baka kung ano na naman dalhin mo like last time when we went on a vacation in Palawan."

"Not this time Sage, baka dalhin ko nalang buong closet mo." he said laughing

I looked at him and raised a brow.

"Just kidding, dadalhin ko mga comfortable na clothes because nagsearch na ako about sa weather at environment ng pupuntahan natin." he continued smiling

"You and your surprises are always intriguing." I said squinting my eyes

"I love doing it for you Sage," he said smiling

"Alright." I said defeatedly

"Lets watch the stars shine brightly Sage." He said bago lumapit sa akin at pinahiga sa mga braso niya.

AFTER A FEW HOURS

Knock Knock

"Sage? Are you awake?"

Kahit kasal kami hindi kami magkasama sa isang kwarto because we still respect each others personal space. We don't have a relationship to begin with.

"Pasok ka." sabi ko. hindi ko din alam kung narinig niya

Ayaw ko pang bumangon late na kaya kaming natapos mag stargaze kaya puyat pa. Ngayon pa naman biyahe namin.

I heard my door na nagopen, baka narinig niya nga

"Hey, you look like may hangover. wine lang naman na isang baso ininom mo kagabi ah tapos hindi naman puno" sabi niya na nagtataka nung nakalapit na siya sa may kama ko

"We're late kaya na natulog medyo bangag lang." I said in my defense

"Ohh do you still need sleep? I will move our lakad nalang." he said concernly

"No it's okay sa sasakyan nalang ako matutulog." I said with my raspy voice

"Are you sure?" he asked and look at me again making sure I am really okay

"Yes, don't worry." saka dahan dahan na bumangon at sumandal sa headboard ko

"Okay then, here drink some water." sabi niya saka inabot iyong isang baso ng tubig

"I'm just here to check on you, labas na ako ha. I prepared breakfast pala baba ka nalang when you are done with your morning routine." He said smiling bago sumenyas na bababa na siya

I nodded

"Hindi tayo sabay kumain?" tanong ko kasi lagi naman kaming sabay

"No, nauna na ako. I had to prepare pa some of our things eh."

"Ay, sayang naman." sabi ko na parang malungkot pa

"Why? Bakit sayang?" he asked curiously kaya ngumiti nalang ako

"Nothing Nate, go baba ka na." I said so he can prepare the things we need 

Tumingin siya sakin at nagaalangan pa kung dapat na siyang bumaba or hindi. Pero naglakad na din naman siya.

Nung makalabas na siya ay tumayo na din ako pagkatapos ng ilang segundo para makaprepare.

"Sage?" mahinang pagtawag sakin ni Nate

"Nandito na tayo." sabi niya ulit kaya dahan dahan kong minulat ang mata ko. I've been sleepy these days and I feel so tired but I coudn't complain. I don't want to complain.

"Wear this." he said handing me his jacket

I'm still confused pero sinuot ko nalang at saka inihanda ang sarili para makababa na sa sasakyan. Pagkababa ko ay tumingin agad ako sa paligid and we are in airport. I thought around Luzon lang kami.

"Why are we in the airport? Where are we going?" I asked confusedly but my voice was a little bit raspy pa din

"You'll find out later." he said smiling kaya tumango nalang ako because he is just fond of surprises so I'm just letting him. Nasasanay na ako and I'm scared na baka isang araw gumising nalang ako hindi na kami naguusap.

"Hey are you okay?" he asked before touching my forehead and neck. He looked at me concerned

Tumango ako kasi I don't have fever naman, Just tired. Ilang araw na din kasing kulang ako sa tulog.

"Pagod lang siguro from work and I haven't had enough sleep these past few days. But I'm okay, I will sleep nalang sa plane para we can enjoy our trip." I said assuring him that he didn't need to worry too much.

Kahit ilang buwan lang kami nagkakilala, I know that he would cancel everything just to make sure that I am okay. He is working on everything in this marriage. He is so gentle and sweet to me that makes me don't want to get attached. Natatakot akong isang araw mapagod siya at maiwan ako ulit.

"Are you sure? you really look like you would faint anytime. You know that I can cancel this, Sage. I will always prioritize your health. I don't want anything bad that will happen to you." he said in a serious tone, which reminded me that he was willing to drop his plan for me. Which I don't want to happen because he prepared this for us. I don't want to ruin his plan.

"Kaya ko Nate, I'm okay." I said smiling and bumping my fist in his shoulder to ease his worry.

"Please Sage, tell me when you're not feeling well. I cannot afford it if anything happens to you." he said

One of the reasons why I don't want to get attached is because he is so kind and thoughtful.

"Loosen up captain, I can manage. I will tell you right away when I can't." I said and smiled

I choose to be with you even when my body is physically tired. I choose to enjoy your effort kahit hindi ko kaya. I choose to be happy because we are together.
