Chapter 16

Sage POV

How far can you go to make your relationship stable?

Kung saan malumanay lang?

It's been a week since we got back from our trip to France. I guess that trip made us more closer to each other.

We communicate and express ourselves more.

I was doing some paperwork inside my office when my secretary entered.

"Ma'am, your husband is outside po. He wants to see you daw po." She said

I am still not used that everyone knows that I have a husband because they know Lucas very well. They know him well and they were shocked when I announced that I have a husband.

"Okay papasukin mo nalang, Thank you." I said smiling

Nate was respectful that he would inform the receptionist and my secretary before going to my office. Sometimes he will get a visitor's pass before going to me or will make an appointment to see me. He doesn't want to have special treatment just because he is my husband.

After one or two minutes ay nakita kong bumukas ang pintuan ko. Nate entered with a paper bag na pinapakita pa sakin habang nakangiti.

"Hey, it's already lunch time why are you not eating?" He asked before going to me and kissed my forehead

"Hindi ko napansin, I'm sorry. Did you eat na ba? Sabay na tayo?" I asked while fixing the papers I was signing bago itabi ito sa may gilid ng table ko.

"Nope, so I brought some food so we could eat together." He said habang tinataas baba ang kilay niya

Kaya napailing nalang ako bago tumayo at lumapit sa kaniya.

And again, I feel so happy that he's doing things that are not necessary. These are the things where questions come up in my mind; 

what are we?

Yes, we are married but it's not something he should do because we don't have feelings for each other, or he doesn't have feelings for me.

Was it all casual? Was it just the responsibility because he is my husband?

"I cooked adobo for you." He said

"You cooked?" I asked and he responded with a smile and nod

I was confused because I went out around 10 AM and I didn't see him.

"I haven't seen you in the house a while ago, so I thought you went in the office early." I asked because he is also busy in his company for him to cook pa

"I went for a run and stayed in the gym for a few hours because a friend of mine was there and we catch up for a while." He said while fixing the table

"I texted you, you haven't received it? Or hindi ba nasend message ko." He continued and looked at me bago chineck phone niya to confirm

Kaya kinuha ko ang phone ko at chineck if he really did send me a message. I don't usually check my phone in the morning unless it's important.

"No, I didn't receive any." I said while looking at my phone

"Oh, it did not. I'm sorry." He said afterwhile

"It's fine Nate, let's just eat." I said before going near him and sitting beside him.

We silently devoured the food, and honestly, Nate is good at cooking. He usually cooked for us.

After we ate, we fixed the table before settling down. We sat silently for a few minutes when he broke the silence.

"Sage, I will not be home for 2 weeks pala." He said bago humarap sa akin.

"Why? What for? Where are you going?" sunod sunod kong tanong

"I need to go to Singapore for a meeting with some of the investors. We are also conducting an audition as we also need a model to represent the product. So I would be more busy for the next few weeks" he said

"How come na ang tagal?"

"We are also going to check some sites for a company expansion base, we need a bigger base for the products that we need to release." He said

"I can be your model Nate, so you don't have to find one anymore." I said to ease what he was thinking

He looked at me with an expression na hindi siya sumasangayon sa akin.

"I don't want to involve you here Sage, it's a little bit risky because some of the investors are just greedy, I don't want them to know you. I want to protect you from possible danger." He continued concern

"But you are there naman to protect me. I will just pose in the camera. You can be the photographer since kaya mo naman eh" I said to convince him

"I'm sorry but, still no Sage. I don't want them to use the opportunity to make you my weakness." he said sincerely

Hindi na lamang ako nakipagtalo because he has a point.

"Point taken, let me know when you need my help." I said before smiling at him

He just nodded and smiled back

"Do you still have things to do? Madami ka pa bang gagawin?" he asked after a short silence between us

"I will just sign some papers, ayon lang naman ata." I responded thinking kung meron pa ba 

"Date tayo?" he asked which made me startled 

"Ha?" 

He laughed before pinching my cheeks and rubbing my it after.

"You're cute, Sage." 

It made me blush for a while. Gosh, why am I even blushing? He does compliment me naman every day but why am I acting weird now?

"So? ano tara? date tayo?" he asked again 

I composed myself before nodding and informing my secretary na maaga akong aalis.

I choose to go and enjoy random dates with him. I choose to spend my time with him kahit may mga kailangan pa akong gawin.
