Funeral, after funeral, after funeral.
Each hurting just as much as the last.
And the whole pack felt it.
Allison's was first. As the town quickly found out of her passing, which was blamed on a car robbery gone wrong, it was important they held hers first. It was a busy ceremony, despite the fact both Lia and Chris knew Allison would have preferred just the inclusion of her family and close friends. However, they couldn't exactly turn people away when they came, clad in black, to pay their respects.
Lydia balled her way through the ceremony, her hands interlinked with Isaac's and Ethan's as the eulogy was read.
Scott managed to keep himself together well, stood between Chris and Melissa, doing what was right by his first love. Making sure her father had a shoulder to cry on.
Aurelia and Stiles stood strong at the front, hands held as both of them silently cried.
Next came Aidan's, which, unlike Allison's, was a quiet ceremony. The twins didn't have many friends in school, they mainly kept to themselves. Meaning it was easy for Ethan to drop out of school for both him and his brother, without many questions asked.
Derek led the service, being that he had spent more time with them in the latter days and had grown to liking the pair.
And then, there was Kara's. It wasn't a true service but the pack were able to pay their respects to the werewolf, who had given her life in order to protect Stiles and their hometown. She wasn't to be buried in Beacon Hills, but Greece. Which was why Deaton held her body, preserving her for her journey home. Where she could be buried in the way she had wanted.
"What'cha thinking about?" Stiles' voice rang through as they laid on the grass.
He had been watching her for quite a few minutes now, examining the way she often squeezed her closed eyes tighter or smiled. Opening her eyes and squinting against the sun, she rolled her head to the side and met his gaze. "Them." She said simply. "You?"
"I was too."
Stiles had been very hard on himself.
Blaming himself for the deaths of their friends, he could barely look Roman and Ivy in the eyes after what happened to Kara. She hadn't asked for that when she came to Beacon. Roman had even dragged him out to his car after her funeral and berated him for blaming himself. Claiming that Kara knew what she was getting herself into and would do it three times over.
And Aurelia had said the same, being that Kara had told her. Something which came as quite a shock to Stiles when she told him.
Just as Aurelia had promised, she had brought Stiles to her waterfall. Where she would skate in the winter and swim in the summer. In the mid-day sun, the pair drank up the warmth of its rays and revelled in the feeling of the soft grass beneath them.
Life seeming more finite these days.
"Did you and Isaac end up, you know?" He asked, almost avoiding the rest of the sentence.
Isaac had been a tough topic to bring up, considering he'd flown off to Paris with Chris six days after Allison's funeral. Needing an escape. Aurelia didn't blame him, but every time she asked him when he'd be back. He would never give her a straight answer.
"Yeah, we did."
Stiles sat up in shock.
"Wait, you did?"
"Yup."
"And you didn't think to tell me?"
"Figured you find out when we went back to school and they read it out." She chuckled, laughing as Stiles slumped back down onto the grass. Muttering to himself about how 'unbelievable' her behaviour was.
