I awoke to one of Singa's pups nuzzling my neck. I had probably only slept a few hours as it was late morning now, but it was the easiest rest I had had in a while.

My body knew that I was not in a hurry to rush away to the castle, and that felt so relieving.

I sat up slowly, and took in the sight around me. Lea was awake, her three pups drinking from her. Her Mate, Jay, was laying on my ankles. Singa was awake and grooming four of her five pups while the fifth was begging for my attention. Despite how far away I must be from the kingdom, I felt so deeply at home here.

Everything just felt right.

Good morning Azy. While you slept another wolf arrived. He said he was one of Koria's Familiars and left a scroll for you. He's resting outside the door.

"Thank you Lea. How're you feeling?"

Good, still tired . . . But suprisingly energized.

I laughed, "Might have something to do with the pups. You look good. "

The wolf Lea mentioned, pawed his way through the door and dropped a silk bag at my feet.

"I'm pleased to meet you princess, my names Jack. I'm not too sure on how much you're aware of, but I could give you a run down if you'd like."

Jack was a huge wolf, standing nearly to my shoulders. He was a bright yellow color, almost golden.

"I haven't a clue as to anything here, so I'd be more than willing to hear about anything you could tell me." He gave me a wolfish grin, than sat at my feet.

"You're a true blooded royal, that much is certain, but you've also been bestowed a gift from the God's themselves."

That sounded a bit . . . Strange? I mean it's an honor, but it just doesn't feel real.

"May I ask, why me? And also, what kind of gift?"

"You and Koria are a lot a like, and as such, she intends to give you what she never had; a true chance. Before she can do that however, she needs you trained and of a good head space.

Now, as for what that gift entails, we're not completely sure. So far, we have communication between different species. I'm actually hoping that your dear Lia could be if some assistance."

I wanted to ask for about Koria, but I didn't want to push my luck or seem as though I was trying to pick up information about her. That could be a really bad look for myself.

"Lia just gave birth, she needs her rest." I gave.

"All I need from her is words, nothing more. I assure you, I do not intend to impose on her health." With a sigh, I looked at Lia.

She was Beautiful, and her pups were so small. They were drinking and she was grooming.

It is alright my dear Ria, I can spare a few minutes of my time to talk.

"I just want you to rest though."

And I will, once I help you. Now sit down and let me answer his questions dear.

I huffed, but did as I was told. And this right here is why people thought me crazy back at the Kingdom.

You wanted to know what else she can do, but I'm not sure how it could be of use to Koria. Regardless however, she can heal through her heart, she has speed that I've never witnessed from a human, and I have a feeling she's a shifter, like us. Or, atleast how we were.

I froze. A shifter? They raised me, and yet this is news to me. And speed? I think not, I'm constantly chastised for my tardiness.

Lea looks at me then, her eyes speak so much more than what she's revealed, and I know I'm in for a bumpy ride with what truths she'll speak next.

When you were four, you ran from your mother while on a walk. You stumbled into our pack and fell asleep one of the elders stomachs. You healed her within one touch, and she lived on until you were around twelve. She was ridded of her cancer.

You had speed like no other, and it was hard for your mother to catch you, almost like a shifter's child.

She had a witch put a damper on your abilities via that chain you wear around your ankle every day. I've always hated it, it makes you weak, it makes you tired. That is why I let you take it off once a week. You heal yourself almost completely when you take it off.

Every three months we tell you to spend a week entirely with your family so that we can shift for a few days. Your energy fuels us, even while being tucked away due to that that damn chain. Your energy still leaks, and it builds up enough energy in us to be human again.

We wanted to tell you, but it was never a viable option. You hanging with a group of humans once every three months while the wolves disappear would've given us away.

My mind was reeling from all the information. They fought so hard to keep me up, to give me strength when all I wanted was to run away from my duties and spend the rest of my eternity with them. When other bullied me, pointing and staring, they stood there, all of them, besides me, and scared the daylights out of those children. The least I could do, if I was understanding this right, was give them back their right to choose their form. And only one thing stood in that way.

"Then lets get this damn anklet off."
