"Good morning, Lysanna," Remus smiled at her warmly as she took a seat next to him. To her surprise, Severus wasn't there yet, or perhaps she had already missed him? After all, she had slept a little longer than usual, as the evening before had gone on very late. She could still feel that pleasant tingling whenever she thought about what had almost happened. The thought inevitably brought a smile to her face.
"Good morning, Remus. How was your first night at the castle?" Lysanna asked politely. Not that Lysanna wasn't interested in talking to Remus, but she had actually hoped to exchange a few words with Severus before the school day started again.
"Good. Well, it's still a few days until the next full moon. I'm just curious about the first lessons now," Remus explained with a little uncertainty. Just as he finished his sentence, the door that Lysanna had just entered the hall through swung open again and Severus approached the empty seat next to Lysanna.
"Good morning," Lysanna greeted him friendly, but there was no longer anything but the same stern expression as always on his face. Lysanna didn't miss the critical look he gave Remus.
"Good morning, Lysanna," Severus returned her greeting and added, only after he had sat down, curtly:
"Lupin." Apparently, he couldn't bring himself to do more than nod to his colleague. That could become funny, Lysanna thought tensely.

The pleasure of seeing Lysanna was somewhat dampened by the fact that Lupin was sitting next to her and was clearly trying to make conversation with her. However, his attempts didn't seem to be very successful. Severus listened silently to the admittedly more than boring conversation. It didn't exactly seem like old friends had reunited here, but he still didn't like the fact that Lysanna and Remus clearly got on quite well. Lysanna usually didn't reveal this understanding side to everyone.
"Don't worry, Remus, I'm sure you'll do a great job and the students will love your lessons," Lysanna replied in response to Lupin's uncertainty. Yes, of course the werewolf would give great lessons. Severus wondered how Lysanna could actually mean that. What could the students possibly learn from him?
"Thanks, well, I'll do my best. I'm sure I can teach the students something." For example, how to turn into a werewolf? Or how to break all the school rules at once? Very impressive. Lupin couldn't teach the children much more than that. Severus actually had to force himself not to simply say his thoughts out loud. When Lysanna gave him a sweet smile just a moment later, he calmed down a bit. If it hadn't been for her, he probably wouldn't have stayed so calm. He had had to endure Potter and his friends' arrogance for long enough.

"Lysanna, Severus, may I have a word with you, please," the headmaster's voice ended the silly small talk between Lysanna and Remus and also pulled Severus from his thoughts.
"Of course," Lysanna replied, smiling.
"Let's proceed to my study," Albus suggested and got up from the table. Lysanna willingly followed the headmaster and Severus probably had no choice but to finish his breakfast early. At least he was rid of Lupin and his chatter for the time being.

"As I see it, you've already cleared the air in between you," Albus stated with a satisfied grin after they had entered his study. Lysanna couldn't hide a slight grin and looked at Severus, almost as if she expected a reaction from him as well. The headmaster's curiosity went too far as usual and Lysanna's grin was unfortunately already more than enough answer to Albus' question. Perhaps he should resume the lessons with her, she still had a lot to learn.

"I doubt that's the true reason you wanted to speak to us, Albus," Severus said sternly. Surprised by the answer, Lysanna looked back at Albus, who continued to grin, unfazed by Severus' bad mood.
"Indeed, Severus. It's about something else. You both know very well that our new colleague Remus Lupin is a werewolf. Severus, I assume the potions are already in progress?" Albus continued, explaining his request.
"Of course," Severus replied curtly. He had expressed his doubts about the new colleague to the headmaster more than once, but his opinion hadn't really mattered.
"Very good. Please see to it that he takes the potion on time as well," Albus replied, not giving Severus any time to retort.
"Lysanna, I would ask you to keep an eye on Remus. It's easier if he's not alone on these nights, and I can still remember that you used to have a good rapport with him. Would that be alright with you?" the headmaster continued, addressing Lysanna. He couldn't be serious, could it? Severus was sure Lysanna had enough sense not to simply agree to such a suicide mission. Wasn't anyone aware of how dangerous Lupin could be?!
"Very happy to, Albus," her voice sounded absolutely calm and relaxed, more like she had just agreed to a cup of tea. Severus could hardly believe his ears when he heard her answer.
"You can't be serious!" Severus couldn't help but interject.
Both Lysanna and Albus looked at him, astonished.
