I felt like making them adopt a child. However this means a child had to be on board. I also couldn't decide if the child should be the reader or not. But read it as who ever you want. Ava isn't their actually name more of a nickname.

JIM POV:

I sat in the command room with a cup of coffee. There is now 86 years left till we reach Homestead two.

"Hey, how's everything going" asked Auroa as she entered.

"Good, how was your run" I asked.

"Great" said Aurora.

She sat in a chair next to me. Every morning we enter the command room and check to make sure the ship is doing okay. After that is just being on the ship. I try to do keep my days different. A alert showed up on the computer.

"What's that" asked Aurora.

I took a sip of my coffee and put it on the table as I stood up. Aurora and I walked over to the computer.

"It's a pod malfunction" I said.

"But how? We fixed the ship" said Aurora.

"Maybe we can fix it" I said.

I pulled up the pod error and tried to repair it from here but it isn't working. The lights went off for a second and there was a loud bang. That can't be good. The lights came back on and the error was still on screen.

"We need to get to the pod room" I said.

"Pod 5671. Let's go" said Aurora.

We ran out of the room and to the pod room. I did bring my coffee. I don't want it to get cold. I finished the coffee as we ran and left the cup on the ground. A robot will get it. We entered the pod room and started looking.

"JIM, OVER HERE" Aurora yelled.

I ran up to her and found the pod. It had the 15 year old in it.

"Can you fix it" asked Aurora.

"By the time I get my tools they will be awake. But we can use the infirmary to put them back to sleep" I said.

The lights in the pod came on and the wake up process started. The pod came them a shot and then started their heart.

"Nothing is happening" said Aurora.

"I guess some people might take longer. Plus they are only 15. If that makes a difference" I said.

The pod tried to start their heart again. But again nothing happened. I'm not sure why exactly. The pod tried a third time and the person coughed. Aurora and I were both relieved to see they will survive. There was a few more coughs before they started breathing.

"We have to tell them" said Aurora.

"Let's make sure they are okay first" I said.

The pod opened and the screen pulled up.

"Good morning" the video said.

The person opened their eyes and looked at screen.

"Que" they said.

"It is normal to feel confused. You just spent 120 years in hibernation" said the video.

The pod went to move to the scanning area but the person threw up on their shirt. However the system did say they are well enough to leave. We ran over to help them.

"You okay" asked Aurora.

"Ya, I think so" said the person.

We them out of the cot and I caught them before they fell. I stood them back up and made sure they were stable before letting go of them.

"What's your name" I asked.

The person thought about it.

"Ava, and you two" they asked.

"Jim" I said.

"Aurora" said Aurora.

Ava fell to their knees and threw again. The ai said that their body is going threw some hibernation sickness but other then that Ava will be just fine.

"Sorry" said Ava.

"No, it's okay. Let's just get you to your cabin" said Aurora.

Aurora helped them up and took them to change into the pajamas. We then left but took a trash can with us in case Ava through up again.
