Christmas is fast approaching, and that means Jacques's birthday is right around the corner, too.
We're currently on Christmas break, and my family decided to stay home this year. I had originally wanted to travel abroad, but Dad disagreed. He prefers staying home.
I’ve already bought gifts for everyone. I even decided to have a bit of fun with what I got for Kuya Jeohan—I bought a T-shirt with my face printed on it. But I didn’t forget to get him a pair of shoes as well, especially since he’s been hinting at wanting them for a while.
For Kuya Chase, I bought a perfume, and for Mommy, a designer bag. Daddy is getting a pair of shoes. The total cost was quite high, but I’m not too worried since I’ll be receiving cash or gifts from them, especially from Daddy.
I also got Jacques a necklace with his initial, and for my friends, I bought matching bracelets.
"Chrysolite, where’s my T-shirt?" Kuya Chase asked. I avoided his gaze, feeling a bit guilty. I borrowed some of his clothes yesterday.
"You're so nosy."
"Dami mong alam," he said, pinching my cheek. "Let’s go out." My face immediately brightened.
"Okay, but you’re treating."
"I don’t have a choice."
Kuya Chase is quite wealthy due to his successful career as a famous artist, so it's no surprise that he likes to spoil me and Kuya Jeohan.
"You’re spoiling your sister too much, Chase Laurent," Mommy scolded, and Daddy laughed dahil alam niyang iniispoil din kami ng Mommy.
"Well, you do the same for us," Kuya Chase replied, and we all laughed. They always make sure to provide for our needs and wants.
"Whatever, Chase. Just be careful," Mom said.
"Take care, alright?" Daddy said, concerned.
"Yes, Dad."
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang trip ni Kuya Chase, but he is wearing a jacket, a cap, and a mask. Para siyang kpop idol na nagtatago.
"Anong trip 'yan?" I asked, laughing.
"Trip to Jerusalem." I just rolled my eyes at him.
Once we arrived at the mall, I immediately took him to the department store to shop for some items. He told me I could get whatever I wanted.
Kaya mahal ko itong si Kuya Chase eh. Talagang magkaiba sila ni Kuya Jeohan, dahil si Kuya Jeohan ay mapang-asar, si Kuya Chase medyo lang. Kidding aside, I love them both.
We headed to the clothing section. Kuya Chase, in high spirits, enthusiastically guided me through racks of clothes, picking out various pieces he thought I'd like.
"How about this one?" he asked, holding up a sleek black dress.
I examined it and smiled. "I love it. But let's see what else you have in mind."
We continued our search, trying on cosy sweaters and stylish jeans. Kuya Chase was attentive, offering his honest opinions on each outfit.
"That sweater looks fantastic on you," he said, as I emerged from the fitting room in a soft, cream-colored sweater.
"Really? I wasn’t sure about it," I replied, twirling a bit.
"Trust me, it’s perfect. We’ll get it." Kinuha niya 'yon at agad na hinawakan.
We spent over an hour picking out clothes, and I ended up with a couple of trendy outfits, thanks to Kuya Chase’s impeccable taste. Once we were done shopping for clothes, Kuya Chase suggested we get pasalubong for the family. We picked up gourmet treats and a few special items.
