The next day, Avni followed her usual routine and got on the bus. The events of yesterday replayed in her mind, but Ishan didn't take the bus. She reached school and met up with Nidhi. The first class started, but Ishan still didn't show up. After the class ended, Aaron got up to leave.

Nidhi asked, "Where are you going? Practice?"

Aaron nodded, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "Yeah, we have a practice match today, against the seniors."

Avni said, "But Ishan is absent."

Aaron shook his head. "Absent? No, he's been practicing for the match since the first period. That's why he didn’t come to class."

Avni replied, "Oh, I see. Good luck with the practice match."

Aaron smiled, "Thanks!"

Nidhi added, "Do your best and win this match. We'll be cheering for you."

Aaron replied with a grin, "You better be loud."

As Aaron left, Nidhi asked Avni. "So, excited about the match?"

"Yeah," Avni replied.

For the rest of the classes, Avni and Nidhi sat together and attended all of them. When the bell rang for the break, they went outside the classroom to have their lunch.

Avni asked, "Won't they be having lunch?"

Nidhi replied, taking a bite, "They might have already eaten."

Avni replied with a simple "Oh."

A girl approached them and asked, "You're Avni from class 11 C, right?"

Avni replied, "Yeah."

The girl said, "Congrats on winning the quiz competition," and then walked away.

Avni called out, "Thanks," but the girl was already gone.

Avni turned to Nidhi, puzzled. "I didn't know that quiz was that important?"

Nidhi smiled knowingly. "It's not just about the quiz."

Avni frowned, "What do you mean?"

Nidhi explained, "She might have recognized you from your post. It's getting popular among all the students. Not only because you won, but also because you're beautiful and stood next to their crush, Ishan."

Avni rolled her eyes, "Whatever."

After having lunch, they both headed to their classroom.

Avni asked, "Aren't we going to see the match?"

Nidhi replied, searching through her bag, "Yeah."

Avni asked, "What are you looking for?"

Nidhi pulled out a sign and showed it to Avni. "This!"

Nidhi showed Avni a sign that said, "YOU GOT THIS! YOU WILL WIN!" along with a picture of Aaron pasted on it.

Nidhi added, "I made this one for Aaron. He better notice it."

Avni said, "He will, or else you'll scold him later."

Nidhi replied, "I made one for you too. Let's go!"

Nidhi took Avni and they headed towards the ground. They found a spot at the front to get a better view of the match. They stood there, and noticed Neha standing a little distance away from them, holding signs for Ishan.

Neha shouted, "Do your best, Ishan!"

Ishan, however, paid no attention.

Aaron looked at Avni and Nidhi and then informed Ishan. Now, both Ishan and Aaron were looking at them. Nidhi held up the signs, and they responded with thumbs-up.
