Sympathy.

A mysterious figure stepped out from a hovering speeder and onto the ledge of the skyscraper. Walking over to another mysterious figure named; Jango Fett.

The woman who had just stepped out of their speeder walked over to Fett. "I hit the ship, but they used a decoy." The woman mumbled

"Well have to try something more stuble this time, Zam. My client is getting impatient. Take these." Fett grumbled through their mask, handing over a transparent tube to Zam. It was filled with centipede-like Kouhuns.

"Be careful. They're very poisonous." Fett added as Zam started walking away, "Zam, there can be no mistakes this time." Fett ordered as Zam looked back, attaching her veil across the bottom of her face. Walking back to her speeder with the Kouhuns...

...

Me and Anakin stood patiently, well I did. We were waiting for Obi-Wan to step out of the security room, watching for any assassin's. He had been in there for so long the sun had set about and hour ago, as soon as he walked out we stepped forward.

"Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin would try that way... Any activity up here?" Obi-Wan questioned as he slipped off his outer robe, setting it on the couch.

"None." I murmured, placing my hands behind my back as we all stood face to face. "I don't like waiting here for something to happen to her." Anakin added, making me give him a weary glance. He liked her? Interesting.

Obi-Wan pulled out a view scanner from his belt. It beeped, "Whats going on?" He questioned, like we would know. I internally rolled my eyes but his question peaked my interest.

"Ah, she covered the cameras." Anakin replied, looking back to Padme's room. I raised an eyebrow, "When?" I questioned, making him look back at me with a shrug.

"I don't think she liked me watching her." He added, I huffed and followed Obi-Wan as he walked towards her room. "What is she thinking?" He murmured to himself

"She programmed R2 to warn us if there was an intruder." Anakin muttered, staying behind as I followed Obi-Wan. Oh yeah... I must've forgotten. Damn it.

"There are many other ways to kill a senator." Obi-Wan commented, coming to a halt as I stood behind him like a curious puppy. "I know, but we also want to catch this assassin, don't we, Master?" Anakin questioned, walking over to us. Making Obi-Wan turn around, as I groaned quietly

"We've discussed this Anakin. We are here to protect the Senator, not figure out who's trying to kill her." I whispered in irritation as Obi-Wan shook his head. "You are using her as bait." Obi-Wan replied

I raised an eyebrow, glancing between them. "It was her idea." Anakin whispered before continuing, "Don't worry. No harm will come to her. I can sense everything going on inside that room." He reassured

"Trust me." He mumbled after he glanced at the door to the Senators room. "Its too risky." Obi-Wan muttered, glancing back behind his shoulder. "Besides, your senses aren't that attuned, my young apprentice." He added

"And yours are?" Anakin questioned him, in a seemingly overconfident manner. I glanced between them both, sensing some hint of competition between them. "Possibly." Obi-Wan commented, looking back to Anakin.

...

Standing on the skyscraper edge, Zam loads the tube holding the poisonous Kouhuns into a probe droid, sending it out into the city.

...

We had moved out to the balcony, I was standing beside Anakin. Looking out at the city landscape as he looked back at Obi-Wan, who was standing inside. "You okay?" I questioned quietly, glancing at Anakin.

"I'm fine." He grumbled, looking back at me before his features softened. He seemed a bit guilty but I knew he wouldn't apologize. I hadn't even know him that long. Only being with him for a day but I could sense some... overconfidence and stubbornness about him. "You're master is Obi-Wan Kenobi, and you're still alive with that mouth? Incredible." I muttered sarcastically, making him give a quiet chuckle.

"I'm being sarcastic if you didn't notice." I instinctively corrected, making him tense a little. I sighed quietly, silence over taking us as Obi-Wan stepped out onto the balcony. "You look tired." He commented, making both of us look back at him.

"I don't sleep well anymore." Anakin replied quietly as he messed with the railing of the balcony. I raised an eyebrow at him, what had happened?

"Because of your mother?" Obi-Wan questioned, since they had seemingly discussed this before. Oh how I wish I had this sort of bond with my master.

Anakin nodded, waiting for a few moments. "I don't know why I keep dreaming about her." He mumbled, glancing out into the city lights. My expression softened a little, a look of sympathy crossed across it. At least I didn't know my family, it was better off that way. I couldn't grow attached to them like he did.

Obi-Wan looked off to the side, crossing his arms. "Dreams pass in time." He reassured, walking up to us. "I'd much rather dream about Padme." Anakin replied, making me look over at Obi-Wan questioningly.

"Just being around her again is... intoxicating." He trailed off, walking away, making us follow suit. "Be mindful of your thoughts, Anakin. They betray you." Obi-Wan grumbled as he walked inside with Anakin. Making me follow behind.

"You've made a commitment to the Jedi order, a commitment not easily broken. And don't forget, she's a politician, and they are not to be trusted." He continued as we walked inside, the glass door that opened up to the balcony closing behind us.

"Shes not like the others in the senate, Master." Anakin explained going far enough to defend her. "It is my experience that senators focus only on pleasing those who fund their campaigns, and they're in no means scared of forgetting the niceties of democracy in order to get those funds." Obi-Wan responded, unbeknownst to us, a droid floated outside of Padmes window, cutting our a hole for it to fit the poisonous Kouhun through as she slept.

"Not another lecture... At least not on the economics of politics." Anakin complained in a sassy manner. R2 beeping in the other room as he looked around, the droid not seeing the hiding Kouhuns. Once he shut off again, they continued move up Padme's bed.

"And Besides, you're generalizing. The chancellor doesn't appear to be corrupt." I shivered slightly, I didn't like that man. He was always a bit too nice, especially to Anakin. "Palpatine is a politician. I have observed that he is very clever in following the passions and the prejudices of the senators." Obi-Wan commented, before I sensed something. Glancing towards Padme's room in interest and alert, "I think he's a good man. My..." Anakin paused, glancing back to Padme's room with just as much alert as me.

Well at least I wasn't the only one who noticed, "I sense it too." Me and Obi-Wan whispered at the same time, before we all ran it her room quickly. Getting out our lightsabers, the lights of them reflecting off the dark walls as Anakin jumped up onto Padme's bed, slicing the Kouhuns in half.

The sudden intrusion made Padme instantly awake, sitting up with a gasp as me and Obi-Wan stood in the doorway. We instantly noticed the droid outside the window, both of us jumping out to catch it. Our lightsabers left behind as we grabbed a hold of it...
