Moon's Secrets

Winter dragged Moon to an empty cave with the others following behind.

"You knew. That's why you stopped us from going in there! So, how did you know, NightWing?" Winter demanded coldly.

Moon looked down at her talons. "You did this, didn't you?" Winter accused her harshly.

"No, no, please, I didn't! I wouldn't hurt anyone! Please believe me!" Moon cried in desperation.

"You have until tomorrow to admit the truth to me, or I will tell everyone that you were the one who set up the explosion and killed Carnelian and Bigtail. I was starting to think you were different than the other NightWings, but I guess I was wrong, as usual." Then Winter swept out of the room.

"How did you know?" Qibli questioned curiously.

"Maybe you smelled smoke?" Kinkajou asked hopefully.

Moon saw all their thoughts. Qibli was thinking of many possibilities, but he kept shying away from the truth. He wasn't the first one there, though.

"Three moons, you can see the future, can't you?" Turtle asked in disbelief.

"Yes, I'm sorry!" Moon nodded miserably.

"Can you read our minds?" Qibli asked sharply.

This is the last moment they'll like me, Moon thought.

"Yes, I'm really sorry! I can't turn it off! I try not to, but I can't control it!" Moon was crying now.

"You know everything. All our secrets." Kinkajou asked, her voice becoming angry.

"You've been listening to our thoughts. All this time, and you never told us!?" Cometsenser was practically losing her mind now.

"I need to process this," Cleverclaws muttered, and then he was gone.

Kinkajou, Cometsenser, Qibli, and Windrider followed his lead. Moon wrapped her wings around herself and cried. A warm talon rested on one of her wings. She looked up and met Turtle's eyes.

"Come on," he said, and she followed him to one of the underground lakes.
