Chapter 3

ALYSSA'S POV:
I woke up the next morning by Ollie jumping on my bed.
"Bloody hell Ollie!" I yelled.
"Come on get up! You have to look good for your date today!" He said laughing.
"Shut up it's not a date," I laughed back.
"You wish it was," he smirked.
Not gonna lie, I did.
I got up and picked out clothes for today. It was a lot harder when you actually tried to look good.
______
After an hour of Ollie yelling at me and trying to find clothes, we were driving to the rink. I decided on wearing black leggings, a black tank top, a black and white sweater on top of that and braided my hair to the side. I threw on some high top converse and a little mascara. I grabbed a pair of gloves like Ollie yelled for me to do.
"Are you nervous?" Ollie asked laughing.
I just smiled and looked out the window.
"Alyssa?" He asked.
I looked at him and nodded. We arrived at the rink twenty minutes later, and got out. As soon as Ollie saw Shawn he took off to give him a hug. I stayed back hoping no one would ask any questions. Us girls rented skates since the boys used theirs and I sat down to put them on. I slipped them on and grabbed the laces, I looked at them confused, how the hell did I tie these?
"Need help?" Someone asked.
I looked up and was met with his warm brown eyes.
"I literally have no idea what I'm doing," I laughed.
He smiled and bent down tying them for me. When he was done he stood up and held out his hand.
"Thanks," I said smiling.
I grabbed his had and he pulled me up. We walked to the opening of the rink, I saw that my family was already skating. Shawn smiled and stepped onto the ice.
"Are you coming?" He asked with a laugh.
I hesitated. I realized I really didn't know how to skate.
"Um, I don't really-"
"It's okay, I'll help you." He told me.
God how good can this boy get?
I smiled and took his hand again. I slowly put one foot on the ice, then the second. I took a deep breath and pushed off. I panicked and waved my arms around.
"It's okay, just start by shuffling your feet." He told me.
I nodded and tried to shuffle my feet.
"I'm so bad," I laughed telling him.
"No you're not!" He told me.
I smiled at him and kept shuffling, he stayed by my side making sure I didn't fall.
"Now that you've mastered shuffling, try picking up your feet one at a time." He told me.
I did what he told me and picked up my feet. At first I wobbled a bit but Shawn held onto me so I wouldn't fall. We slowly picked up our pace and started moving faster around the rink.
"Now all you really have to do is get a hang of that," he smiled.
"Thanks Shawn," I smiled at him.
He smiled back.
"Do you want to try it on your own?" He asked.
I hesitated.
"You don't have to, I'll skate with you-"
"I'll try it," I smiled.
He let go and stepped away letting me try on my own. He went off and skated in front of me, I tried to shuffle my feet. I picked them up one by one and got halfway across the ice. As I got to the corner of the rink, I panicked.
"Um Shawn I don't know how to stop." I yelled.
He started skating my way but I was already heading toward the wall.
"SHAWN!" I yelled again.
I got closer to the wall.
"Oh my gosh," I whispered.
The wall came fast and I thought I was gonna go right through it. At the last moment Shawn grabbed my waist and flung me back into him. We both fell with a thud.
"I'm sorry, that was awful! Are you okay?" I asked him.
He laughed.
"Hey I'm totally fine, are you okay?" He asked.
I nodded and smiled shyly.
"Um," he said laughing.
I looked at him and realized I was still lying across him. I got up and helped him.
"Thanks Shawn for teaching me how to skate," I said as we were getting off the ice.
"No problem, if you need anything just call me. I know how annoying Ollie can be." He said laughing.
He put his number in my phone and texted himself so he had mine. I smiled at him and followed Ollie outside.
"Bye Shawn," I smiled again.
"Bye." He smiled back.
Ollie and I got into the car and he smiled at me.
"Of course." I said rolling my eyes. As we walked away from Shawn Ollie said goodbye and we headed back home.
I looked out the window at him and waved. He waved back. I glanced at Ollie and smiled.
"Dibs," I whispered to him. All he did was smile.
