A/N: This chapter is the most special to me, so I'm dedicating it to these wonderful girlies:

@EllaSallow, @MiaTonksSallow, @sunflower_squid, @deathlysallow, @StarryEyesSparkle, @_eittol, @faeserenade, and @endless_starlight in AO3.

I really struggled hard with the past six chapters, but you guys made it so worth it. Thank you for lifting my spirits and being my motivation. You all make me feel good about the plot and my writing.

Thank you for reaching this far with me. This fic still has a long way to go, and I can't promise it will never become a drag to read, so, no pressure! I'll always be thankful even if you don't reach the end with me. Just giving it a try and becoming my friend outside this app is absolutely more than enough ♡

Chapter 19: Home Sweet Home

Good morning, Lucy,

Like waking up to the smell of her favorite food, an indication of being spared from cooking them herself, or to a raging hurricane, a provider of a sudden rest day — Sebastian Sallow's morning greetings never fail to make her smile,

Except when they were done through an owl.

Like the letter's would be state, Lucy's face crumpled as she read on,

I didn't want to disturb your sleep,

So, I went home without you.

I hope you found the Ginger Newts I left with this letter,

It should help your motion sickness when you Apparate home.

Sebastian

Lucy eyed the cookie resting on her left palm before chucking it in her mouth. Thoughtful, but useless. While she appreciated his peace offering, her mind was fixated on phrases she would callously launch at him for leaving without her—without indicating a rational explanation at that.

Though vexed as she might be, the mention of the word 'home' had her smiling to herself after bidding Anne and her family farewell. Anne and Ominis, or even Elizabeth, had never been unwelcoming; but oftentimes, Lucy would find herself watching them bond like the complete family they were, and would feel ashamed for ruining the perfect picture with her existence.

The thought of returning home to a family of her own would be deemed as one of her greatest joys in life.

Once the coast cleared, Lucy hurriedly drifted towards a narrow alley between apartments and Disapparated, later materializing in an alley across their street.

She had yet to cross when her feet glued themselves on her spot as a middle-aged man in a suit and beret, carrying a bag of pastry, exited her shop casually. It was a regular, she recognized; but how did he procure a pastry when her café was supposedly closed?

The man looked her way, and they exchanged a curt nod before he walked away as though not caught red-handed. Dread of being robbed crossed her mind the same time she crossed the street.
