Y/n's Pov
The sun had long dipped below the horizon, leaving the park on the top floor bathed in the soft glow of lanterns and fairy lights. The gentle rustling of leaves and the occasional chirping of crickets provided a soothing backdrop to our intimate picnic.
Alastor and I were seated at a beautifully decorated table, the spread before us an array of exquisite foods and delicate treats. Despite the opulence, my mind was more focused on the man across from me. He wore a striking red suit with black accents, his hair pulled back into a neat ponytail that accentuated his refined features. The sight of him in this setting felt almost surreal, like something out of a dream.
We had been talking for hours, delving into topics both light and profound. Alastor spoke with a charm and eloquence that made every word feel significant. We laughed and shared stories, with Alastor's voice resonating with a warmth that seemed to make the evening even more magical. Despite the joyous occasion, I couldn't shake a lingering sense of wonder about what this night truly meant.
"So, Alastor," I began, leaning forward slightly as I took a sip of my wine, "you've planned all of this... What's your grand vision for us?"
Alastor's eyes twinkled with mischief and affection as he leaned closer. "My grand vision? Well, it's quite simple. It's about us, Y/n. It's about making sure you know how much you mean to me."
I smiled, my heart fluttering at his words. "You've certainly gone above and beyond."
He chuckled softly. "I always aim to exceed expectations. But truly, this evening is just the beginning. I want to show you that you're cherished and adored in every possible way."
I looked down at my plate, feeling a wave of emotion wash over me. "I still can't quite believe this is happening. I keep thinking it's all a dream."
Alastor reached across the table, taking my hand in his. His touch was warm and reassuring. "Believe it, Y/n. Everything you're experiencing is real. And it's all for you."
I squeezed his hand, feeling a mixture of happiness and nervousness. "But what if... What if I'm not what you're looking for?"
Alastor's gaze grew serious, his eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that made my heart race. "Y/n, you are everything I've ever wanted. There's nothing about you that I'd ever change. I would burn the world to protect you."
His words were so filled with conviction that they left me breathless. I searched his eyes for any hint of deceit but found none—only an unwavering promise of devotion. Still, my mind couldn't help but overthink, replaying the possibilities and uncertainties of our relationship.
"Sometimes I worry about the future," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm scared of what might happen."
Alastor's expression softened, and he reached up to gently lift my chin, bringing our faces closer together. "Y/n, I would never let anything happen to you. Whatever the future holds, we'll face it together. You have my word."
His words were like a balm to my anxious thoughts, but the weight of his promise felt immense. I could feel the sincerity in his touch and the warmth in his eyes. The world around us seemed to blur, leaving only the two of us in sharp focus.
As the silence between us deepened, a comfortable, intimate silence, I could feel the magnetic pull drawing us closer. Alastor's gaze never wavered, and I could see the depth of his feelings reflected in his eyes. Slowly, almost instinctively, we leaned in closer.
Alastor's hand gently cupped my face, and his fingers brushed lightly against my skin. Our lips were just a breath apart, and I could feel his warm breath mingling with mine. The anticipation was electric, and I knew this was a moment I would remember forever.
