"State your name, rank, district, and the function or spectrum you'll be showing us today." Kendo Rama instructed.

"Tsutomu Yamaguchi, Rank: IX, District 7, Function: Invulnerability." He answered firmly, his stance mimicking that of a soldier, his gaze fixed on a distant point.

Mimicking the technology used in the Observatory Theater at Buaisōna, an ethereal screen materialized beside Tsutomu's head, displaying the basics of his functionality and ranking. The glowing interface hovered silently, its sleek design and holographic quality catching the attention of the crowd.

The screen shimmered slightly, as if alive with the data it held. Gasps and whispers rippled through the audience as they scanned the impressive stats.

Tsutomu barely glanced at the display, his focus still lingering toward the back of the auditorium. Behind him, other students awaiting their turn eyed the display nervously, knowing their own rankings would soon be shown for all to see.

He took a deep breath, his body rigid with focus as he stood center stage. The students watched intently, their eyes following his every move.

Kendo Rama nodded, a smirk forming on his face. "MECHANICAL ARMS: Level 9."

Suddenly, a series of mechanical arms emerged from the walls, launching projectiles—rubber bullets and large stones—at him with alarming speed. The audience gasped as the first impact struck, only to watch in amazement as the objects barely grazed his body, leaving little to no sign of damage. Tsutomu remained unfazed, his body absorbing each strike with ease. The relentless barrage continued, but he stood his ground, his expression unwavering.

Kendo Rama, standing on the sidelines, watched with quiet satisfaction, letting out a grunt of approval before exchanging murmurs with the other instructors.

As the barrage subsided, Tsutomu stood motionless, like a statue. A ripple of applause echoed through the room, though his focus remained unbroken until Kendo Rama approached.

"Well done, Tsutomu." Kendo announced. "You've shown remarkable control. Your function is a powerful asset."

Tsutomu gave a respectful nod.

"So, Tsutomu, have you thought about which Operation or Occupation you'd like to pursue after you take the entry exam?" Kendo asked, his tone more conversational now.

"Functionality Defense Operation." Tsutomu answered without hesitation, his voice steady.

Kendo smiled approvingly. "A fitting choice for someone with your abilities. We'll see if you're ready for it soon enough."

With that, Tsutomu stepped off the stage, the display still glowing faintly as the next student prepared for their demonstration.

Kendo Rama nodded encouragingly, subtly gesturing towards the next student, the unspoken expectation clear that he wanted them to introduce themselves as stated before.

The small student approached center stage, her nervousness evident.

"Take your time." Kendo Rama nodded.

She took a deep breath. "Haruka Inoue, Rank: VIII, District 4, Function: Accuracy, Spectrum: Extra-sensorial."

As before, a screen displaying her stats appeared beside her head. She smiled awkwardly as everyone gazed at the glowing interface.

"Explain your spectrum for everyone, if you can." Kendo encouraged.

Haruka cleared her throat. "Well, I focus more on numbers and arithmetic patterns." She chuckled awkwardly. "Technically, I can identify data through observation and logic pretty easily. But I can also sense data through the distinctive atmosphere surrounding a given source. Today, I'll be identifying the number of people in this room and the number of possible functions obtained by each person."

Kendo nodded. "So we have a walking calculator on our hands here, people." He chuckled, and the room filled with slight laughter. "And how do you see your function adding value for the betterment of the city?"

Haruka smiled confidently. "Well, I would love to be a part of the Physical Special Analyst Operation. I believe my function could help with placing students in the appropriate classes more efficiently and logically, ensuring accurate placements in their respective Operations or Occupations."

Kendo Rama nodded. "Future PSA member, sounds promising. So, Miss Inoue, how many people occupy this room right now?" Kendo smiled.

Haruka's eyes quickly darted around the room in a robotic manner, taking in every feature of every student and instructor present. In seconds, her rapid eye movement ceased. Though she seemed confident in her observation, her expression showed concern. Her eyes were transfixed on the area where the students from Buaisōna sat.

"Well, I can confirm that this auditorium can hold up to 800 patrons in one sitting, and given that there are currently 10 districts with 28 schools present, along with one instructor for each class, I can accurately conclude that there are 629 people, including you and I, Mr. Rama, occupying this room right now." She breathed.

Kendo Rama grunted in satisfaction. "You're correct, Haruka. There are 629 people in this auditorium right now—"

"But..."

Kendo Rama's brows arched in concern. "But?"

Haruka swallowed hard. "There is an infinite amount of aura in this room. Normally, I can identify a specific number to assess the functions by aura, which should be coming from 629 sources. This means the total number of functions used in this room should be around 425 from the instructors and 120 from the students. Altogether, with only B, A, and S-tier rank holders here, there should be over 500 available functions."

"So, what are you saying, Miss Inoue?" Kendo questioned.

"The number of functions being used in this room is infinite. There's no way for me to conclude a single value from my observation."

Haruka's eyes began to scan the room once more, her gaze drawn toward the area where Buaisōna students sat. She focused on every student in that section until her eyes landed on Kamiwaii. They exchanged a look of concern before Haruka noticed the mass of energy billowing around him. Her eyes widened in fear.

"Mr. Kendo?"

"Yes, Haruka?"

"I would also like to add that, although there are 629 sources of aura in this room, I'm detecting thousands of energy sources in that area." She said, pointing to the back of the auditorium near the Buaisōna Academy student section.

To the naked eye, only dimly lit faces could be seen filling the room. But for Haruka, her abilities were far more advanced than she had let on. Not only could she sense the aura of every living creature, but she could also visibly see the energy surrounding them.

She intensely sensed a large, dark mass of energy hovering over Buaisōna's student section, along with thousands of dark figures surrounding the area, especially over Kamiwaii.
