I close my eyes and quickly begin to go back to when I last saw her. Oh my god I don’t remember. I can’t bring myself to remember. I feel my heart beat against my chest, hot sweat starting to form, sticky as I run my fingers across my forehead. I open my eyes only to look at Sarah’s, her eyes a mixture of worry and confusion as her hand seeks comfort in mine.

“Cheryl try calling her.” I look behind me, her lips catching my attention as she speaks. I look down to her outstretched arm and see her dialing a number as she holds out the phone to me.

“Ring……….ring………..rin-…………….”

“Nicola? Babe? Are you there?” I hear low mumbling and someone clearing their throat, their heavy breathing clouding up the line.

“Uhm.. Yea Cheryl?”

“Oh thank god Nicola, where have you been?”

“Uhm,… sorry….. I forgot to tell you….. my mom wanted me to come home.”

“So she came all the way over here? Where are you?”

“I’m on my way home..” Then I hear it again, the low mumbling. I can’t understand what or who is talking.

“Look babe.., Uhm, I have to go.. Don’t worry about me I’m fine.”

“Nicola-“and before I can finish the line goes dead.

“Something’s wrong Sarah.”

“What do you mean? What did she say?”

“She barley said anything, Just that her mom wanted her to go home.”

“Why would her mom want her to go home if her mom is off with her boyfriend?”

“Exactly. I don’t think she did.”

“But why would she lie?”

“Sarah I think I’m going to go back to her’s to see what’s up. There’s something going on and I have a feeling its not going to be good.’ Sarah jumps up, talking over me slightly as I see worry grow in her eyes.

“I’ll go with you; we can take the car Jake found. You barley know how to drive.”

“What about Tommy?”

“Right.” She groaned loudly as she turned around leaning her head on the top of a bunk. “And they just asked him to another gig here tomorrow night.”

“I can drive.” I turn to Kim who pulls the keys out of my back pocket, shaking them in the air while her smile makes me take in a slow deep breath. Unintentionally, I smile back catching her eyes fix on mine.

“Kimberley you don’t have a license.” Sarah reaches for the keys but Kim quickly pulls them against her chest.

“You don’t either.”

“Fine but you better call me once you get there chez and no stopping for late night dancing with random boys.” I roll my eyes refusing to think about the whole situation that started with a drunken dance.

“Ha. Ha. Sarah very funny.”

“Too soon?” she chuckled slightly before bringing me into a hug. “I’ma go update the boy’s on what’s happening they were freaking out just a moment ago.” The warmth of her arms is quickly replaced by the cold air blowing through the window as she made her way back to the front, the blinds falling close behind her.

“God Nicola what have you gotten your self into.” I feel Kim twist her fingers around mine as I fall back into the bunk.

“I’m sure she’s fine babe, she answered you didn’t she?” She brings my hand to her lap, running her fingers over the top, tracing over my knuckles.
