Here are some situations to add in your story that you have to explain and provide context for and I hope they are thought provoking and make you think.
The villain wins but after they do they don't feel happy
Crazy friend is the only sane person in a certain situation
The main characters are in trouble so they're rescued by the side villain
The hero is forced to help the antagonist win
The main character gets his goal but he had to do a lot of bad stuff to get there
The main characters were mean to a side character only to find out that everything the side character did was for a good reason that the main characters believed in prior to that
The main characters are in trouble and they get rescued by their pets
The main character is constantly pushed aside and locked up by either a side villain or a side character and the main character hates them for it only to find out that the side villain or character was just trying to save them from the real villain
Anti villain and anti hero both get captured by the main villain and are forced to work together
Hostage situation except they weren't a hostage in the first place
