Twisted tropes

It's fun to see common tropes subverted, or at least twisted a little to be more original.

1. Forbidden love but the in-laws are supportive of their kids even though they don't hide the fact that they hate each other at family reunions.

2. Damsel in distress but it turns out she was only pretending to be in trouble so she could single-handedly take down the villain all by herself.

3. Really nice person who only hates the main character for some reason.

4. One-sided rivalry where the main character can't figure out why some random guy wants to beat him so much.

5. Love triangle but the boys are friends with each other and just happen to both want the girl.

6. Werewolf that's actually a normal wolf who for some reason is human whenever it's not the full moon and has to deal with human sentience, emotions, and whatever weird thing humans did this time.

7. Lovers to enemies, or enemies to lovers and then enemies again.

8. Instead of the main character being an orphan the main character is a parent or parents who've lost their kid.

9. Wise old mentor actually has no idea what he's doing and is just spouting really smart sounding stuff in hopes the kid won't die.

10. All knowing prophecy but everyone's actually doing the smart thing and just letting history run its course without interference.

11. Insert sci fi accident in which main character obtains powers but instead the main character already had powers and the accident just took them away.

12. A couple that doesn't have an imbalanced dynamic and are pretty equal in every way possible or it's the male who's on the lower end of the scale instead of the female this time.

13. An actually decent family who's supportive of the main character and always helps when needed.

14. That strange adventure the main character had after going to sleep and waking up in a weird world was entirely real after all and they now have to deal with the consequences of that.

15. The popular hot girl isn't a bully and is genuinely nice.
