"Will, El!" A female voice called out, Will and El both turning around to see Max running towards them.

"Oh, morning." El smiled as she saw Max. Max quickly caught up to them and began walking beside them, seeming very excited.

"Did you guys hear what happened last night?" Max asked, both twins answering with a small no. "Chrissy Cunningham and Jason Carver were murdered last night! I heard that their insides were on the outside." She told them.

"What!?" El gasped, looking absolutely horrified. "That's horrible! I knew her, she was my friend!" El frowned, looking quite upset.

"Who would do something like that?" Will frowned, looking very uncomfortable.

"Someone insane." Max giggled.

"Max, this isn't funny. People died." Will frowned, looking quite upset. "They were someone's children. They were people's friends. You shouldn't laugh about that." Will murmured.

"Oh, it's only a joke, man. Lighten up." She grinned. "Anyway, apparently the police are talking to every single student today, we're all being investigated." Max shrugged.

"Wh- They think that a student could've done that? That's insane, what kid does something like that?" Will scoffed.

"An insane one." El murmured, still sounding quite upset.

"An awesome one." Max giggled. She went to say something else before being cut out by an announcement from the speakers.

"There has been a strict curfew set for everybody this evening, you will all have to be in your homes by 7pm and no later, you are also advised to be walking in groups of at least two or three to ensure that you are safe. . ." The man on the loud speakers announced. Will didn't want to listen to him anymore so he just said a small bye to his friends and walked away.

He made his way to his class, sitting down and looking around at everybody around him, terrified that one of them could've done this.

What type of person does that?

After a while of him just sitting and doodling in his notebook, too distracted to focus, a police officer walked into the classroom.

"Can we see Will Byers, please?" She asked, Will looking up at her nervously.

"Of course." The teacher nodded.

Will quickly grabbed his bag and walked out with the officer, picking at the skin around his nails nervously. He walked into the headteachers office, sitting down on a small chair that was positioned in front of both the police officer and the headteacher.

"Robin." Will gave her a small smile.

"It's officer Buckley today, kid. This is a proper meeting." She gave him a small, pitiful smile, Will nodding nervously.

They sat in silence for a minute, Robin gathering her small notepad and looking up at him.

"So, we just wanted to ask a few questions, okay? You don't need to worry about anything, I promise. It's just a few questions." Robin told him.

"Okay. . ." Will nodded, evidently nervous.

"How's your mum?" Robin asked.

"She's good. . . She's doing better than before." Will nodded, Robin giving him a soft smile.

"And how have you been?" She asked.

"I've been, um. . . Okay. Everything's still weird." He spoke quietly, Robin nodding softly.

"We're gonna keep this very brief, okay, Will? The police just want to ask a few questions." The headteacher smiled, Will looking up at him nervously and nodding.

"Okay, where were you last night?" She asked.

"I was at home. . . I was with my sister and my mum, we were watching a movie together." He told her.

"Okay." She nodded, write down something on her notepad. "How is this situation making you feel?" She asked.

"Scared." He answered honestly.

"Anything else? Obviously, we know that the whole situation with your dad earlier last year might've made this whole situation more traumatic for you." Robin asked, Will tensing up as he heard this.

"I'm scared." He repeated, seeming very tense.

"Okay." She nodded, writing down something else on her notepad. "And, would you say that you were close to Chrissy Cunningham or Jason Carver?" She asked.

"No. . . Not recently, anyway. I used to sort of be friends with Chrissy when my sister was friends with her but they drifted so we did too." He murmured.

"Okay, thank you." Robin smiled. "You can go now, thank you for your time. I'll talk to you later, okay?" Robin told him, Will nodding nervously and grabbing his bag, walking back out of the room and heading over to his locker, quickly grabbing the books he needs for his next lesson before leaving.
