Phantom glanced at Whisper then back at the island.

There was no sign of any of the storm cutters but human boats were on the beach.

They watched from the sky in confusion as humans ran about and yelled.

Then a cart came trundling up to the beach from one of the canyons.

On the back of the cart was a large metal cage.

Inside the metal cage was a storm cutter.

It was seemingly asleep, at least that's what Phantom hoped.

Better asleep than dead.

Another cart came onto the beach from further in the island and this one held Whisper and Phantom's mother.

She was still awake.

Whisper was staring at the cages in horror.

"Phantom we need to do something! We have to get them out!"

Whisper dove down towards the cages and humans before Phantom could stop her.

Phantom immediately chased after her too afraid to call out in case the humans heard.

Their mother looked up and spotted them just before Whisper landed in  front of her cage.

"Mother what happened? I'll get you out I promise!"

Whisper bit the bars and tugged frantically while mother tried to get attention.

"Whisper you need to leave you cannot get it open!"

Phantom hovered next to her sister keeping watch for any humans.

"Phantom take your sister and go!"

Phantom glanced at mother and the cage realizing there was no way they could get it open.

She landed on the ground and approached the bars crooning sadly

Whisper began trying even harder to get the cage open

So frantic that she didn't even try and be quiet Whisper began yelling at Phantom

"What are you doing you have to help her! Help me get it open! Don't you care! We can't leave her!"

Phantom pressed her head against her mothers through the bars and then jumped back into the air

"Whisper quiet down! You have to say goodbye to mother before we all get captured!"

Whisper screeched and hurled herself at the bars.

"No! Im not leaving mother in a cage to be killed by a human!"

And then a net fell over her head.
Arrows fell like rain towards the three dragons, one in a cage, one in a net and the other torn between helping and leaving .

At that moment an arrow made a killing blow to Whisper.

The light faded from her eyes and her wings went still falling to the ground.

Her body collapsed against the ground pinned by the net and just like that Phantoms sister was dead.

With a cry of sorrow Phantom fled to the safety of the clouds leaving behind the stench of blood and the cries of her kin.
