The wind howled through the night sky as I pulled my legs to my chest, cradling myself back and forth. The wild, unkept grass surrounded me, towering over my broken figure. I was in the middle of nowhere, free from the world but enclosed in my thoughts.
"Mum where are we going?" My sixteen year old self question.
"Well you wanted to find out what that stone around your neck could do, didn't you?" My mother replied treading through the grass.
"Yea, but we're in the middle of nowhere."
"Exactly, free from everyone." She sighed stopping gazing across the empty land.
"But my feet hurt." I whinged sitting down. I plucked the grass around me playing with it in boredom.
"Mum what happened to dad?" I blurted out, speaking my thoughts out aloud. She didn't seem to mind as she sat down beside me, a sigh escaping her lips.
"Well sweetheart, your growing into a lovely young woman and I think its about time you should know." She ran her hands through her black hair, replicating mine.
"Well, We were married and loved each other dearly but he started leaving the house more. Going away for hours then to days and sometimes weeks. I was worried sick, I would call him but he never answered then when he came home and he always answered 'work'.
But he never actually told me what he did for 'work' We got into a massive argument with him storming out, but of course he came back apologising. That's when I found out I had you, I thought he would be so happy but when I told him, his face and along with his mood dropped and he left, but this time never returning. I didn't want help though, I wanted to show him I could raise you myself, and I think I've done a great job." She finished wrapping an arm around me as she planted a kiss to my forehead. I smiled up at her warm facials but it soon dropped as I saw the loss in her eyes.
I was the reason he left
I clenched my jaw in anger, as I felt the grass in my hand burn, turning to a small flame. I looked up at my mother in shock.
"Your power only works when your emotions are strong."My hands shook violently as the memory played through my mind. I needed a voice to echo, to keep my sane...
I watched as I twirled the spaghetti around my fork in circles around my plate.
"Playing with you food won't make it taste any nicer you know." My mother chuckled watching me, as I sat opposite to her at the dinner table.
"Yea I was hopping it would." I played along sarcastically.
"Maybe next time yo-." She cut herself off as I heard a click of a gun behind me. I watched as my mothers face turned to fear then to recognition? I slowly turned stood up from the table turning around, dread in my eyes
"James's?" my mother questioned.
"Dad?" I questioned my eyes widening.
He slowly nodded yet no emotion struck him. He swallowed the lump in his throat as he began to speak, his voice husky.
"Give me her now, and you go on unscathed."
My jaw dropped, this wasn't the farther my mum had raved on about.
"Excuse me? You leave me with your newborn child then turn up wanting her back, threatening me! No way you stay far away from her!' My mum ran to my side protecting me in her arms.
"I don't care, give her to me. I need her for work." He demanded as I flinched yet my mother stood strong.
"Ya know, you never told me what you actually did for work." She said disgusted with his words.
"Well if you really want to know, I work for HYDRA a secret spy organisation and recently 'your' daughter has appeared to be quite interesting with that necklace of hers." He spat, taking an intimidating step closer towards us.
"Your child, you mean our child! And you want to use her for some science experiment!!" My mother hugged my tighter. The sadness clear in her voice.
"Just hurry up and giver her to me!'' He stared down at my necklace in greed.
"I will never let you touch her!" My mother screamed, tears spilling from her eyes.
"Fine." My dad shrugged, his face blank. That's when he swung a punch at my mothers jaw, she let go of me falling back in pain.
"MUM!" I screamed as I heard him laugh, clearly amused. I screamed in anger as I watched his body fly back hitting the wall. I rushed to my mothers side assisting her at getting back on her feet.
"Weakling." He scoffed "Now move aside honey." He got up pointing the gun towards my mother.
"You make me sick, you never deserved her and never will." I hissed, as I shot ice towards the gun, it missed horribly as I felt my cheeks burn, I hadn't learnt how to use my powers yet.
He laughed at my poor shot.
"That all you got?" He mocked. I tried standing tall, acting strong but inside I was quivering with fear. I looked down at my feet unsure of what to do when in felt a warm hand in my shoulder.
"You've grown into such a strong, independent young lady Tresmae and I love yo-" She stopped as her eyes turned to horror. Everything happened to fast. Her body dropped to the ground already pooling in her own blood.
"MUM" I screamed as the tears ran from my eyes, streaking my checks.
"I love you to mum." I whispered placing a kiss to her forehead. I closed her eyes watching as my tears hit her face.
I new that was it, I knew she was gone, my sanity, my life line my mother.
I bought her body close to me as I wrapped my arms around her neck. I weeped into her shoulder and just this once she didn't answer by wrapping her arms around me. The house went up in flames as my heart broke. I felt her warm blood seep into my top as I lay her body back down, knowing she was in a better place.
I left her body as I walked through the flame in guilt, it didn't burn though, I didn't feel anything. My dad was hunched over coughing and spluttering up blood and smoke. The evil smile played on my lips as I like to see him in pain yet he deserved so much worse.
I wanted to kill him then and there but I knew I couldn't do it, yet.
"I WILL FIND YOU TRESMAE." was the last thing I heard as for the first time I flew into the sky leaving it all behind. My body quivered hopelessly as my shaky breath filled the air.
I didn't ask for this, I was once innocent without a care in the world, the infinity stone changed me, he, my own farther changed me. But he made us suffer he deserved a taste of his own medicine.
I learnt to control my powers but never my temper, then here I am now searching for his unwelcome presence.
Sobs quoted the air, as I fell to my hands and knees heaving. My body shook, as I swallowed the lump in my throat.
The infinity stone was powerful and I, myself was a fragile weakling, dying in her own thoughts.
My mouth opened and closed like a goldfish as the wind hit my frame. My body was pale as my breathing was unsteady.
But it didn't stop me, I would get my revenge if it was the last thing I do.
I had fallen off the edge years ago, now I was falling waiting to feel the impact of everything.
Murdering someone nearly everyday broke me, far beyond mending.
I was crazy, insane, out of my mind.
The grass behind me rustled, everything paused as my wide eyes searched around me, nothing.I sighed as the wind blew picking me up with it, and carrying me away.
