My chest felt heavy against my lungs, making it that much more difficult to breath evenly. My knuckles became white as I clenched my hands, tighter, attempting at stopping them from shaking.
This was becoming far harder then what I had originally expected.
I sat tensed yet somehow jittery in my seat on one of plenty of SHEILD undercover cars, out looking the window.
As risky as it may sound, HYDRA had been smart enough to base their lab in a quieter street on the outskirts of the city. Where it wasn't 'suspicious.' Where they 'thought' no one would think of looking.
I clenched my eyes shut refreshing my earlier, somewhat last, minutes with Beth. Slightly calming me, when Steve's voice rang around our ear pieces, re-infusing the plan.
It was basic, simple, hopefully what SHEILD thought full proof.
To get there as quickly as possible and seperate into small groups, go off to different locations of the base, look about and find whatever information we could.
Without alerting a single being.
I nodded here and there, shrugging off his words as they weren't what I needed at this moment, and weren't exactly what was pestering me.
The car stopped.
As did my thoughts.
Because was I really doing this?
I watched the others suite up. Ready to executed our mission with ease.
I hesitated because I, well I knew this wasn't going to be a 'simple mission.'
I followed Clints footsteps, slapping against the concrete, flicking water up from the odd puddle. The alleyway where our team had stopped was shady, hidden from the sun. Where parents would tell there children to not go there.
Wind swept the air as goosebumps cover my skin. Because to me this felt exactly like a horror movie when someone was about to die...
