they all say that it gets better,
it gets better,
but what if i don't?

THIRD PERSON.

Arriving at Rosemary's apartment complex with a small bouquet of flowers, the boy had been stood outside her door for over a minute with no answer, checking his watch before checking his phone for any response from her.

With a frown on his face, he knocked once more and finally heard footsteps from inside the place. As he let out a sigh of relief and brushed up his clothing, the door was opened to Vivian staring at him.

He met eyes with the girl as she pursed her lips together and let out a sigh, stepping out of the apartment and shutting the door behind her.

"You know?" Vivian asked him as Corbyn nodded, "apparently it's been gone for a few days."

"I figured, she wouldn't let me see it at the meal." He replied, "is she okay?"

"She's running on nothing but coffee and she refuses to eat takeout right now." Vivian explained, "so, if you want to cook her pasta or something, be my guest."

"She had lunch with Harry." Corbyn said, "she's eaten."

"Okay. That makes me feel better." She nodded once, fiddling with her rings as Corbyn softly smiled at her, "...she's in the bath right now."

"Thank you, Viv." Corbyn smiled at her as Vivian frowned in confusion, "for making sure she's okay while I was working."

"Oh. Of course. She's my best friend." She shrugged, her eyes filling with water before taking a deep breath, "Sorry, I've never seen her like this, it's weird."

"It's worrying." He reassured her as she nodded, "yeah, me too."

"I've um, cleaned some of her apartment... it was messy." She explained in confusion, "so.. I'm happy to leave you with her."

"Okay." He nodded at her and smiled, "did you drive here? How are you getting back?"

"Yeah, I drove." Vivian smiled, "I'll probably just go see Zach for a little, I've been meaning to catch up with him anyway."

"Cool, let me know when you get there." He said, stepping inside the apartment as she stepped out, "I think um, Evelyn's last shift is-"

"It's tomorrow." Vivian nodded, "I told Rosy I'd open the shop up for her and she can do the afternoon, I don't know." She shrugged with a deep breath, "I don't think she needs a full day of work considering today."

"Thank you," he smiled at her, "I really appreciate it."

"It's no problem," Vivian returned the smile, adjusting her bag on her shoulder, "anyway, I'll see you soon."

"See you later, Viv." Corbyn replied, watching her walk away from the apartment as he shut the front door and turned to face the place.

Placing down his bag and leaving the flowers on her kitchen countertop, he made his way through the apartment and over to her bedroom, the bathroom door still now open and Rosemary running an oil through her hair in her bedroom.

As she looked at him through the mirror she was facing, he gave her a quick smile before glancing around the clean slate of her room, aware she had most likely been on a cleaning spree before he had arrived.
