Shubman took a deep breath, his hands trembling slightly as he began to speak. "Ruhi's mother... was my sister, Shahneel Di"

Anaya's eyes widened in shock, her breath catching in her throat. " Wh...what sha...shahneel...Shahneel di?"

Shubman nodded, his gaze dropping to the floor as he continued. "Shahneel was everything to me. She was my best friend, my confidant... my family. But a few years ago, she disappeared. No one knew where she had gone, not even me. It wasn't until months later that I found out she had gone to Dubai... and she was six months pregnant."

Anaya's heart pounded in her chest as she listened, the pieces of the puzzle slowly starting to come together. "What... what happened to her?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"She went to Dubai to find Mihir," Shubman explained, his voice heavy with emotion. "They had been together for a while, but when Shahneel found out she was pregnant, Mihir asked her to get an abortion. Shahneel refused. She wanted to keep the baby, to raise Ruhi on her own if she had to. But she was depressed, scared... and alone."

Anaya felt a pang of sorrow for Shahneel, imagining the fear and loneliness she must have felt. "So she went to Dubai... to find Mihir?" Anaya asked softly.

Shubman nodded, his eyes clouded with the pain of the memory. "She thought she could convince him to come back, to be a part of Ruhi's life. But when she got there... he left her again. It broke her, Anaya. She was already struggling with depression, and when Mihir abandoned her, she couldn't take it anymore. She tried to end her life."

Anaya's breath caught in her throat, her heart aching for the sister Shubman had loved so deeply. "Oh my God... Shubman..."

"I got a call from her bodyguard," Shubman continued, his voice barely audible. "He told me what had happened, and I... I dropped everything. I flew to Dubai without telling anyone, not even you. I had to be there for her, to save her."

Anaya's eyes filled with tears as she listened, the hurt and anger she had carried for so long beginning to dissolve in the face of Shubman's pain. "Why didn't you tell me?" she whispered, her voice breaking.

"Because Shahneel made me promise not to," Shubman replied, his voice thick with emotion. "She didn't want anyone to know what she was going through. She was ashamed, embarrassed... she didn't want to be a burden on anyone. I promised her I wouldn't tell, and I kept that promise. I couldn't break it... not even for you."

Anaya felt a tear slip down her cheek, her heart breaking for the brother who had been forced to choose between loyalty to his sister and the love of his life. "So you stayed in Dubai... to help her?"

Shubman nodded, his voice filled with sorrow. "It took months to get her back from the edge, to help her fight her way out of the darkness. By the time Ruhi was born... Shahneel was too weak. There were complications during the delivery. She didn't survive."
