| ynxox WE'RE GOING TO A FLEA MARKET.

...

the morning of their date, y/n woke up much calmer than she was expecting to. she thought she would be all over the place and panicking but she was handling it surprisingly well.

she washed up, did her makeup and left her apartment. she and kageyama had agreed to eat breakfast together before going to the flea market.

kageyama, on the other hand, was freaking out. he planned out his outfit beforehand with his 'useless' roommate, hinata.

he approved of all the clothes kageyama tried on, then joked that maybe he should wear all of them at once. kageyama kicked him out after that.

his teenage years were all about volleyball. he never gave time to things his peers were interested in, like video games and girls.

he left his and hinata's dorm with sweaty palms and a heart about to jump out of his chest. love– no, like– really did make people weird.

kageyama was used to being up and about early because of volleyball practice so he had no problem with their set arrangement. he even arrived at the diner before y/n.

he took his seat and scanned the menu, their blueberry pancakes looked promising. just then, he heard the door bells jingle, and he swore he might've seen an angel.

that was the only explanation for the halo of light surrounding the girl who just entered. and the girl happened to be his date, y/n.

she spotted him as soon as the door closed behind her and she thought she might've fallen in love just at the sight of him. "morning, tobio! were you waiting long?" she asked, the boy shook his head in response.

"hasn't even been ten minutes, don't worry. you look... really pretty, by the way." he let out the one thought swirling through his brain. y/n looked down and giggled out of shyness.

"thanks, tobio. you don't look too bad yourself."

the two ordered their respective meals and chatted away as they ate. kageyama could tell that his date was getting restless. "y/n... are you okay?"

she was startled at his sudden question, but still answered, "oh, yeah. it's just.. the flea market is probably bustling with old ladies by now." at that, kageyama stifled a laugh.

"hey! don't laugh, they're like, the most competitive people ever. i can't count how many times i've lost a cute item to an old lady that was half my size."

they finished up their food quickly after that and walked to the market, which wasn't as packed as usual, much to y/n's relief.

they passed by several stalls when y/n suddenly grabbed kageyama's wrist and started dragging him towards a stall that had clocks and watches galore.

"ta-da! let's find you a watch, tobio." kageyama watched as y/n dutifully picked up and assessed each and every watch on the table, though she got sidetracked a few times, and finally she made up her mind.

she held it up to him, it had a thin black leather strap and a rectangular clock face. "i think this one is perfect for you." but kageyama thought she was more perfect for him.

they spent a little more time at the market and y/n spent a lot more money than she was expecting to, as always.

they parted ways in the early afternoon, "i hope you had fun today, 'cause i know i did!" y/n grinned, holding up her purchases.

the sunlight was shining on her face and the wind was blowing through her hair. it was then that kageyama realized he was falling and he was falling hard.
