"What the bloody hell do you mean that you didn't notice?" Antheia scoffed.

"How about when you are possessed by an ancient witch that is consistently manipulating you for years, then you can come back and tell me how obvious it was afterward?" Sebastian bickered back.

Her blood was boiling. It seemed like each time she had felt like she had control over the situation, the witch had found a way to prove to her that she was also five moves ahead of her.

Antheia Wytners was halfway out of the vivarium when she turned back and noticed he stopped walking. A look of disappointment across his face because of course he hadn't known that the forest was no longer a jail without the ward.

It also wasn't a jail without a prisoner since apparently they escaped long ago.

All it was eating away at her in frustration. Rather than waste her time explaining, she grabbed Sebastian by the wrist to drag him toward the exit, pushing him in front of her and through the entrance that he believed to be blocked.

He stumbled in shock as if he had been waiting for the punishing effects of attempting to escape a ward that you weren't allowed through. Then he realized that he was no longer trapped.

"When did you-?"

"Before I entered just today," Antheia answered quickly.

She knew already that Marceline Elm hadn't escaped the vivarium because of her removing the ward, otherwise she would have been able to tell when it happened. Once it was removed, she had entered and neither had left until then. The witch had escaped before she arrived and that fact alone made her feel foolish for not considering such a trick was even a possibility earlier.

"Where is she, Sebastian?" She growled in frustration.

Sebastian hesitated to answer. He was thankful that looks couldn't kill, otherwise he was sure that the look across Antheia's glare would have put him six feet under the ground by then.

Antheia grabbed her wand off the table, keeping her eyes locked on him until she could figure out her plan. She pressed him again, "Well?"

"You aren't going to be happy."

"Happy?" Antheia laughed harshly, "We are far past that now, you lost an ancient possessed witch that wants to claim the Repository. I'd say I have many reasons not to be happy right now." She was angry, it couldn't be hidden, although she knew Sebastian wasn't solely to blame in the situation.

Marceline Elm could never have just gotten up and just walked out of the ward by herself, she had no physical body of her own. The ward was created for the purpose of keeping Sebastian's body out because as far as everyone was aware, that had been where the witch had made her home. But, they had been wrong and that didn't sit right with Antheia.

It was one thing for Sebastian to not realize her absence, but no one had said anything. Surely, the witch hadn't done it alone.

"It's kind of a funny story actually," Sebastian shrugged off.

"Oh, I'm sure it was hilarious!" Antheia scoffed.

"Your boyfriend came to pay me a visit."

She shot him a glace that was as sharp as a knife.
