ANIRUDH

Days passed by in a blur. It's hard to believe it's already been three days since Bondita was admitted to the hospital. But today was different-today, she was finally getting discharged, and the thought of taking her home, our home, filled me with a joy I could hardly put into words. Happy? That word didn't even begin to cover what I was feeling. Excitement, relief, anticipation-those were closer, but still not enough. This was happening. We were going to get married, and the reality of it all was starting to hit me.

Every time I looked at her, I felt like the luckiest man alive. Even in her hospital gown, with a few bruises still visible, she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. The way her eyes sparkled when she smiled at me, the way her voice softened when she spoke about our future-I could see it all so clearly now. Our life together. Our marriage. Our forever.

I stayed by her side every single day. I didn't want to miss a moment, didn't want to be anywhere but with her. Watching over her, making sure she was comfortable, bringing her whatever she needed-it was all I wanted to do. And every time she looked at me, I could see the same happiness reflected in her eyes. It made everything we had been through worth it.

This morning, as the nurses came in to prepare her discharge papers, I could see the excitement bubbling just beneath the surface. She was practically glowing, her cheeks flushed with happiness, her smile brighter than the sun streaming through the window. And I couldn't help but feel that same excitement-like a fire burning in my chest, making it hard to sit still.

"We're really doing this," I said, more to myself than to her, as I helped her sit up in bed. "We're really getting married."

Bondita looked up at me, her eyes sparkling with that familiar mischievous glint. "I've been ready for a long time, Anii. Are you?"

I laughed, shaking my head in disbelief. "Ready? I've never been more ready for anything in my life. I just... I still can't believe it's finally happening."

She reached out, taking my hand in hers, and I could feel the warmth of her touch seep into my skin. "It's happening, and I'm so glad you'll be by my side for the rest of my life."

Hearing her say that, hearing the certainty in her voice, made everything else fade away. The hospital, the worries, the fear-it all disappeared, leaving just us, standing on the edge of our future together. And it was a future I couldn't wait to step into.

As the nurse handed me the discharge papers to sign, I felt a rush of adrenaline. This was it. We were one step closer to starting our life together, one step closer to the wedding, to the beginning of our forever.

I signed the papers quickly, barely glancing at the lines before passing them back. My focus was on Bondita, on helping her get ready to leave this place behind. I could see the excitement in her eyes as she got dressed, a smile tugging at her lips that she couldn't quite hide.

When she was finally ready, I wrapped an arm around her, holding her close as we walked out of the room together. There was something incredibly comforting about having her by my side, knowing that from now on, we would face everything together.

As we stepped out into the fresh air, I felt a sense of freedom wash over me. This was it-the start of something new, something beautiful. And I couldn't wait to see what the future held for us.

"We're going home, Sunshine," I said, glancing down at her with a grin. "And soon, we'll be husband and wife."

She looked up at me, her eyes shining with unshed tears-tears of happiness, of love. "I can't wait, Anii. I can't wait to start our life together."
