TYLER OWENS had never ran so fast as the moment the truck stopped outside the hospital. As soon as Phoenix was in his arms, he was running. He was running through those glass sliding doors and screaming for help. By some miracle, he'd actually managed to get the woman's heart started again, but even he knew that meant nothing if she didn't get help.
Phoenix was taken from his arms and wheeled straight into a room that he wasn't allowed in, prompting him to collapse into a chair. He wasn't leaving until he knew Phoenix would survive. He gave his wallet to Boone and told him to get a hotel room for himself and Lily. Tyler wasn't going anywhere.
A nurse led Tyler into a room where he was given a routine check-up, and several stitches for the separate glass wounds littered across his face and arms. He sat in that hospital for eight hours before the doctor who had taken Phoenix walked into the room.
"How is she?" Tyler asked immediately. "Are you family or friend?" the doctor asked. "No, sir. Me and my buddies were just driving, saw the tornado touch down and then we saw her" Tyler shook his head. "Do you know her name? Any family we can contact?" the doctor asked.
"Her name is Phoenix. That's all I really know. I uh, I know she owned a Yamaha Super Tenere ES. It was gray, but the plates were gone. If that helps at all?" Tyler offered. "I'll see what we can find" the doctor nodded before turning to leave. "Sir?" Tyler called and the doctor turned back around.
"I know I'm not family but...that woman died on me. I just wanna know if she's even alive?" Tyler sighed. "She is alive. But I cannot give you any more information about her condition. Patient confidentiality" the doctor sighed. "Thank you. Thank you so much" Tyler nodded and the doctor left the room.
Tyler left the room not too long after, but before he left the hospital altogether, he stopped at the front desk. "Excuse me, ma'am?" Tyler asked sweetly and a receptionist looked up. "What can I do for you?" she asked, a smile on her face that looked well-rehearsed.
"I came in with a woman, Phoenix" Tyler started. "The biker" she nodded. "Yeah. If her doctor is able to tell me anything, or if her family want to get in contact with me, could I leave my number?" Tyler asked and she nodded, handing him a piece of paper and a pen.
He quickly wrote his number down before exiting the hospital, calling Boone to come and pick him up.
He just hoped she was going to be okay.

Tyler was at the local garage, getting the car fixed properly, when his phone rang. He didn't recognise the number and prayed it wasn't some fan that had found his number somehow. He took a deep breath and answered the phone.
"Hello?" he asked. "Is this Tyler Owens?" a female voice asked. "Depends on who's asking" Tyler replied. "My name is Samantha, I'm the nurse assigned to Phoenix Collins. She's awake and asking for you" Samantha explained. "Oh my god. I'll be right there" Tyler spoke before hanging up.
The car wasn't even close to being drivable to he opted to simply run to the hospital, bursting through the front doors. "Hi, I'm looking for a nurse, Samantha?" Tyler spoke, leaning against the front desk. "I'll page her" the receptionist smiled.
It didn't take long for a blonde woman to walk into the main reception area and ask for Tyler. "Yes, that's me" Tyler rose to his feet, quickly following Samantha into a room where Phoenix lay in her bed, her left leg in a cast and both of her arms also in casts.
"I'll leave you two alone" Samantha smiled before exiting the room. "Tyler?" Phoenix asked, a questioning look on her face. "Yeah. Yeah, that's me" Tyler smiled, slowly walking towards Phoenix. "I just...I wanted to meet the man who saved my life properly. Not half-conscious and bleeding to death" Phoenix joked and he laughed.
"It's uh, it's nice to see you awake and talking" Tyler smiled, sitting down in the chair next to the bed. "I gotta ask. Why the hell were you out there that day?" Phoenix asked after a moment. "Me and my buddies, we're tornado wranglers" Tyler replied.
"You...you chase tornadoes?" Phoenix asked, a half shocked, half excited look on her face. "Yes, ma'am" Tyler nodded. "I recognise you. You have that YouTube channel, right? 'If you feel it, chase it'. That's the slogan" Phoenix smiled.
"You caught me" Tyler raised his hands teasingly. "You know what? I recognise you too. You're a YouTuber. Ah, what is it? Cataclysmic Phoenix?" Tyler snapped his fingers as he tried to remember and her eyes went wide. "You watch my videos?" Phoenix asked in shock.
"Watch? I love your videos. You literally are the most badass biker out there!" Tyler corrected and Phoenix laughed. "Be honest with me. How was my bike when you found me?" Phoenix asked after a moment, her smile falling from her face.
"It wasn't good. I went back and looked for it after I got you here. I found it and...well, it's not great. Its in the shop right now, they're seeing what they can do, if anything" Tyler explained. "Thank you. For saving me, for getting me here, rescuing my bike. Why?" she asked.
"Why did I save you?" Tyler frowned and Phoenix nodded. "Because you were dying and about to be sucked into a tornado. You're telling me that if the roles were reversed, you'd just leave me there?" Tyler smirked. "Definitely. But I'd save the bike" Phoenix smiled innocently and Tyler laughed loudly.
"Right, okay. That was my mistake, won't happen again" Tyler grinned. "You know, I'm honestly surprised you showed up" Phoenix sighed. "Of course I showed up. Had to make sure you were okay" Tyler smiled. "It was nice to at least have one visitor" Phoenix smiled back. "You haven't had any visitors? What about your parents?" Tyler shifted closer.
Phoenix inhaled sharply before sighing. "I doubt they'd even show up to my funeral" she admitted and Tyler raised his eyebrows. "Seriously?" he asked. "Mhm" she hummed. "Brother? Sister? Boyfriend, girlfriend?" Tyler listed and Phoenix shook her head each time.
"It's just me. No friends, no family. Just me, myself and I" Phoenix smiled, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "Okay, from now on, I'm visiting you every day, and I'll bring my friends with me. If that's what you want?" Tyler spoke. "I uh, yeah. I'd really like that" Phoenix smiled broadly.
And from that moment on, Tyler Owens and Phoenix Collins were inseparable.
