Chap 11

The maids and guards were standing at the backyard, The new maids were sweating buckets, hearts pounding meanwhile the older maids stood there not flinching, The guards stood confidently with hands at their side, chest out and chin up, They didn't look intimidated by the ladies who were glaring at each one of them

Lisa and Jisoo sat on the swing while Chaennie circles around the workers with a very intimidating look

"We know who did it, but we want to give you a chance to confess, maybe then we'll spare your life" Jennie spoke, hearing her one would never think she was acting like a baby a few minutes ago

"If you confess to your crimes, we might just give you a quick death but if we have to pull you out we'll give it to you slow and painful to the point you'll beg for death" Chaeyoung threw them a glare, if looks could kill

Seeing no one planned on moving Lisa stood up "You have ten seconds" She said "1." She walks around a few maid's "2." She dusted the dust off a guard's suit "3." She straightened a maid's posture

"4." She adjusted a maid's uniform "5." She taps the earpiece worn by a guard "6." She gives a maid a smile "7." She scanned the shoes of a guard "8." She lifts a maid's chin up, so the maid was looking into her eyes "9." She picks a spec of dirt out of a maid's hair "10." She smirks evilly and stretches her hand, she harshly grabs a maid's wrist and pulls her out

The force of the pull was too strong which caused the maid to fall on the grass "Who are you working for??" Jisoo asked the maid who landed at her feet

"Ma'am, What are you saying??, I'm a loyal servant" The maid said as she sat on her knees her head lowered

"Loyal?" Jennie scoffed "Give up the act, we know it's you, Now tell us who sent you and why??" Lisa asked her eyes darkening

Few hours ago
"We need to interrogate all our workers" Jennie said in a stern voice but her actions and behaviors were a polar opposite to her tone

"Yeah, but we can't go around asking people like it's a damn police case" Chaeyoung said
"Unnie, check the security footage maybe we'll see something suspicious" Jennie said to Jisoo who nods

"This is creepy" Lisa whined "Are you positive your bullet and dagger touched the shadows??" Jisoo suddenly asked

"Umm.., not positive" Chaeyoung answered
"Well, as soon as your attack touched the shadows, it hit them" She pointed at the footage

"But if i analyze it properly...." "Lisa's dagger and Chae's bullet went straight through them, and as soon as that happened the shadows disappeared" Jisoo explained

"But Unnie That doesn't explain the shadows" Jennie said
"It does. You guys saw your attack hit them so that means it's all an illusion, The shadows are illusions" Jisoo said and her sisters frown

"I'll run a scan on that area, let's just wait" Jisoo tapped a key and her laptop went pitch black, She taps three keys and it turns back on but now it was totally different.

She tapped 'Scan' And all the rooms footage appeared

She tapped on the living room footage
'4 Holographic technology detected' Jennie looks at the red bold words on Jisoo's screen

"So it's all fake??" Chaeyoung asked "But who has the guts to do that??" Jennie asked

"Unnie, check all the security footage especially the staff quarters" Lisa said

"Since when does the staff quarters have a chess board??" Chaeyoung asked, Jisoo zooms in on the chess board

"Jennie your phone" Jisoo commanded, placing her hand in front of Jennie who stared at it

"You could say pls, you know" Jennie rolled her eyes and placed her phone in Jisoo hand

"I don't need to say pls" Jisoo smiled and took a picture of the chess board on her screen

"I'll go check out the chessboard" Jisoo said

In the dimly lit library of the mansion, Jisoo, her expression a mix of determination and unease, carefully examines the chessboard. As her fingers trace the empty spaces where the missing pieces should be, a shiver runs down her spine. "This chessboard... it's like a map of the shadows," she whispers, her voice barely audible over the crackling of the torches.

Jennie, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. "These shadows, they're not just illusions. They're a message, a warning," she declares.

Present

As the worker's gaze shifts nervously around the backyard , Lisa steps in, her tone sharp and commanding. "We know there's more to this than meets the eye. Who are you working for, and what do they want with us?" she questions, her gaze piercing through the darkness, daring the worker to reveal her secrets.
"You are but pawns in a game much larger than you can imagine. The shadows are merely the beginning," she hiss, her words dripping with menace right after she said that she bit her own tongue and died
