CHAPTER 14

"All this happened, and you didn't even inform us, beta?" Devendraji said, his voice tinged with concern, as Abhijeet ji explained the situation they were in.

"We didn't want to worry you all, that's why," Suhashini ji replied, her tone soft but firm.

"But what are we going to do about MLA?" Abhiraj ji asked, his brow furrowed in worry.

"I don't want anything to do with him," Abhijeet ji said, his voice resolute. "I just want my children to be safe. That's all that matters."

"And that's why I request that the marriage takes place within a month," Abhijeet ji continued, folding his hands in a gesture of earnest plea.

"But I think we should fight for our rights. Marriage isn't the only solution," Abhiraj argued. "He could harm us in the future."

"I don't want to fight," Abhijeet ji shared, his voice heavy with the weight of his thoughts. "He's a powerful man. He can do anything."

"But don't you think that after Shivika's marriage, his son might harm you?" Abhiraj ji pressed.

"No, I don't think they will do anything. MLA wants our shop, which I've decided to sell. He doesn't care about the marriage, and his son is just a puppet. He follows every order his father gives. He will do whatever his father says," Abhijeet ji explained, trying to assure them all.

Abhijeet ji joined his hands again, but this time Rishiraj ji interrupted, saying, "No, no, no. Don't do this. Even I want the marriage to happen soon, but not under these circumstances. And it's about Rudra-I don't know if he will agree or not."

"I'll talk to him. I'll request him. I'll explain our situation, and I'm sure he'll understand," Abhijeet ji said earnestly, bending down to touch Rishirajji's feet.

But once again, Rishiraj ji made him stand up. "No, beta, don't do this. There's no need. I will talk to Rudra myself," Devendra ji interjected, his voice calm yet firm.

Both of Devendra ji's sons looked at him , knowing how hard it is to convince Rudra.

"Thank you, Thakur Sahab. I will never forget your kindness," Abhijeet ji said gratefully. Devendra ji reassured his sons with a silent, knowing look, conveying his strength through his eyes. After some time, Rudra's family left.

As soon as they were gone, Shivaay, who had overheard the entire conversation, stormed to Abhijeet ji

"What is this, Baba? How can you even think like this?" he demanded, his voice filled with frustration.

"Shivaay, beta, I know , you don't like all this. But it's the best for us and for Shivika," Abhijeetji said, placing a comforting hand on his son's shoulder.

"Leave this, Papa! You just want to run away from responsibility, but I'm her brother. I can protect her! You don't have to marry her off just for protection," Shivaay retorted angrily.

"Beta, your father is right-" Aparna ji began to say, but Shivaay interrupted her, "No, Ma, don't! You always agree with whatever he says. I'm thinking about Shivika and her happiness, not like you all!" His voice was filled with a mixture of anger and hurt.

"And I am her father. I'm thinking about her safety!" Abhijeetji replied in a firm tone, matching his son's intensity.

"I can protect my sister. You don't have to worry about her. And listen, no matter what, this marriage will not happen unless Shivika agrees to it!" Shivaay declared, his voice resolute, before storming off to his room. Aakriti, concerned and upset, quickly followed him.
