CHAPTER 15

"Shivika, where are you going?" Suhashini ji asked, noticing Shivika heading towards the door.

"Amma, I'm going to meet Ashi," Shivika replied, turning to face her.

"Why?" Suhashini ji questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Actually, it's her cousin's wedding, and she wanted to buy a few things," Shivika explained.

"So, what's your work there?" Suhashini ji pressed further.

"She asked for my help, Amma. That's why," Shivika answered, trying to keep her tone calm.

"No, you cannot go," Suhashini ji declared firmly, her voice loud and resolute.

"But why?" Shivika questioned, her confusion evident.

"Don't you know, or are you pretending to be unaware? There's already enough tension because of you. You're not going anywhere," Suhashini ji stated, her tone formal and unyielding.

Shivika looked down, not knowing what to say. After a moment, Suhashini ji added, "Just go to your room."

As Shivika began walking away, she heard Shivaay's voice as he entered the living room. "Let her go, Amma."

Shivika looked up at him, a small smile appearing on her lips, as usual, grateful for his support.

"Shivaay," Suhashini ji turned to him, her voice laced with concern, "You know why I'm not letting her go. Do you realize how much trouble it could cause if she goes out alone like this?"

"Amma, I'll be with her. Don't worry. I'm also going out for some work," Shivaay assured her.

After a moment of hesitation, Suhashini ji nodded. "But be back before 5 p.m." she instructed.

Shivaay and Shivika stepped outside, settling into the car. As they drove off, Shivika felt anxious, her mind racing. She hadn't told anyone but Aakriti and Aashika that she was actually going to meet Rudra.

Gathering her courage, she spoke softly, "Bhai..."

"Hmm?" Shivaay responded, glancing at her.

"I'm actually going to meet Rudra," she admitted, closing her eyes, bracing herself for a scolding.

"I know," Shivaay replied calmly.

Shivika opened her eyes wide in surprise. "You... you know?"

"I overheard you talking with Akriti," he explained, clearing her confusion.

Shivika said nothing, merely lowering her gaze. Soon, they reached their destination. The two of them got out of the car and walked towards the garden, where they quickly spotted Rudra near the entrance.

As they approached, Rudra noticed them and walked over, looking a bit puzzled as he saw Shivaay.

"Hi," Rudra greeted Shivaay, extending a hand.

"Hi," Shivaay responded, shaking his hand.

"Take care, and call me when you're free," Shivaay said, looking at Shivika. She nodded in agreement.

After taking one last look at both of them, Shivaay left.

Shivika and Rudra exchanged glances before greeting each other with a simple "Hi." They entered the garden together, but it was crowded with people, children playing around.

Rudra glanced at Shivika and asked, "Can we go to a café instead? It's too crowded here."
Shivika nodded, thinking it might be a good idea, and replied, "Yes."
