CHAPTER 17

Next Day :-

Shivika sat by the window in her room, letting the morning breeze soothe her.
Amidst all these situations, she was trying to find some peace. Although she felt somewhat reassured after talking to Rudra, a sense of tension still lingered in her mind.
Whenever her father and brother went out, she couldn't help but feel tense and worried for them. She didn't want them to face any trouble because of her.
Closing her eyes, she listened to the holy Rudrashtakam playing softly in the background. She prayed earnestly for her brother's and family's safety.
A few moments later, Shivika opened her eyes, remembering that Shivaay was still angry with her. He hadn't been talking to her the way he used to. His coldness troubled her deeply.

As she was thinking about how to make amends with Shivaay, she heard a knock on the door. Looking up, she was surprised to see Shivaay standing there. She had expected it to be Aakriti.

Shivaay walked in and sat beside her on a sofa chair near the window, placing a tray of ice cream on the table. Shivika looked at him for a moment, her eyes teary as she was overwhelmed with emotions. Seeing her tears, Shivaay wiped them away, saying, "I'm sorry.". Shivika shook her head in refusal and hugged him, tears flowing freely. "Please, don't cry, Shivi. Otherwise, your eyes will swell, and you'll look like Kirmada," he joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Shivika pulled away from the hug and playfully hit him. "Bhai!" she exclaimed."What?" Shivaay replied with a grin. "First, let's eat the ice cream, and then we can talk."

Shivika nodded and eagerly started eating her favorite flavor of ice cream. Shivaay watched her with a small smile, amused by how his sister acted like a child when enjoying her favorite treat.
As they both finished eating in silence, with Shivika entirely focused on the ice cream, she finally looked towards Shivaay.
As he began to speak, "Shivi, I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't have behaved that way."
"Bhai, please, don't say that," Shivika interrupted. But Shivaay insisted, "No, Shivi, let me finish. I am sorry."
She shook her head again, but he continued, "I know you're strong and capable of handling things on your own, but I can't help but worry about you. And regarding Rudra... he's a good man. I'm sure he's perfect for you."
Hearing this, Shivika smiled slightly, her heart feeling a little lighter.
"But, Shivi," Shivaay went on, "I don't want you to compromise your happiness. I don't want you to get married under these circumstances, amidst all this tension. How can you enjoy this special moment in your life, your marriage, when there's so much going on?"

Shivika looked at him with slightly teary eyes, touched by how much he understood her. "I know, Bhai, you're worried. But think about the situation. Baba is so tense. I don't want to worry him anymore. I'm not compromising. I know the circumstances aren't ideal, but... I feel ready for this marriage. I don't know why, but I just feel ready," she said softly, the last sentence almost to herself.

Shivaay looked at her and understood. He knew she had developed feelings for Rudra. He had seen the way she looked at Rudra, the trust she had in him. Shivika, who usually wouldn't stay alone even with her cousins, had been comfortable enough to spend time alone with Rudra.
He placed his hand on her head gently and said, "Okay, do as you wish. But remember, I'm with you. In everything, whatever decision you make, I'm by your side. Even after the marriage, you don't need to compromise or do anything you're not comfortable with."
Shivika nodded and hugged him, saying, "Thank you, Bhai."
After a few moments, Shivaay stood up and said, "Alright, I'm leaving for the shop now. Don't go anywhere without informing me. And if you do go out, send me your location."
Shivika nodded, her heart brimming with happiness now that things were settled between her and her brother. "Bye," she said, waving.
"Bye," Shivaay replied, patting her head before leaving the room.
