Film vs Reality

Red and Chloe were laying in Chloe's bed, laptop laying between them as they cuddled together Red's head on Chloe's shoulder, Chloe's right hand over Red's shoulders and her right holding Red's resting hands on her lap.

"So the boys parents died? Now he lives with his Aunt and Uncle?"

Chloe hummed in response. The two were watching Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone, when Chloe had heard that Red hadn't even known what Harry Potter was she immediately sat them down to watch it.

"That's Harry, he's the main character."

Red nodded in understanding, intensely watching the screen not wanting to miss anything.
Suddenly Chloe felt Red tense up. Looking down she could see the angry expression on Red's face.

"We are terrible people!!?"

Chloe paused the film sitting up In confusion. Chloe had never been called a terrible person before and she did not expect to be called one whilst watching a film.

"How?"

Red looked at her in disbelief, her face going as red as her hair.

"This little boy is getting abused by his family right now! And we're just sitting here watching it happen not doing anything about it!? And YOU! Chloe charming has watched this more than once!!?"

Chloe listened to the other girl rant. She was trying to piece together exactly what Red was going on about and that's when it clicks. Red had never seen a movie before, she didn't understand the concept of fake vs reality. She thought this was real.
Chloe laughed earning a glare from the red head.

"How are you laughing right now!? Miss goody goody!?"

Chloe held Red's hands on her chest. Red calmed down in feeling the warm contact.

"Hun- I mean Red, it's not real. It's fake. Made for public entertainment. These are actors, that boy is acting. None of it is real, no one is getting hurt."

Chloe explained the film industry and how it worked as best she could to make Red understand a little better.

"So all of this is just being Read from a piece of paper? It's all Fake?"

Chloe nodded letting Red settle back into her position on Chloe's shoulder.

"That's mean."

Chloe stifled a laugh, gently rubbing Red's shoulder in comfort.

"Yeah I know... the film industry is a wild place."

"I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed. Or worse. Expelled!"

Red giggled into Chloe's chest, looking up at her with shiny brown eyes.

"Are you sure she's not a real person? Because she's a lot like you!"

Chloe chuckled not sure whether that was an insult or a compliment.

"That's a good thing my love, hermione's a good character. My favourite character. Just like you. Except you're real."

Chloe held eye contact as she heard Red speak. Did she just call her 'my love'? Chloe had a crush on Red since they had met and not once thought about the possibility of Red feeling the same way because why would someone as cool, beautiful and gorgeous as her ever be interested in someone as boring and bland as Chloe? But Red had never called her 'my love'  before and that send Chloe's mind into a spiral.

"No Ron No!"
"What is it?!"
"He's going to sacrifice himself!"
"No you can't there must be another way!"

Red sighed dramatically.

"Classic Chloe! Always trying to find another way to do things..."

Chloe playfully hit Red's hand and gasped making Red giggle into her.

"She's not me! I'm not her!"

"Yes she is! The writers followed you around for an entire day and wrote the script thingy about you. I mean she reads a lot like you do, she's smart and pretty like you!"

"I just watched it a lot as a child that's all."

"Aha! So you admit it? You are Hermione!?"

Chloe huffed in defeat. She saw similarities sure but was she really the exact same? Maybe a little bit.

"I'm not Hermione but maybe I do share certain aspects yes."

"A win is a win!"

Chloe could practically feel Red's smile. She loved seeing Red smile. It made her happy.

The end credits rolled causing Red to rapidly look up at Chloe. She looked so cute and calm.

"That's the end?"

Chloe nodded stroking Red's hair with her hand.

"No more?"

"There's 7 other movies to watch."

Red smiled giddily. Leaning up towards Chloe. Suddenly Red kissed Chloe on the cheek hugging her tighter.

"Thank you for making me watch this. I really enjoyed it"

What Red wanted to say was that she liked watching it with Chloe and being there with Chloe but she feared she couldn't say that. There's no way Chloe liked her back. They were just friends.

"Want to watch the second movie?"

Red nodded her head like an excited dog. Laying back down on Chloe's chest, without thinking Chloe placed a gentle kiss on top of Red's head.

"You're perfect Red."

She thought she had said it quietly enough for only herself but when Red looked up into her eyes she panicked.

"Thank you!"

Her response made Chloe laugh out loud which made Red laugh too.

Then it hit her, Red had kissed Chloe first, Red had let Chloe kiss her too and didn't walk away when she called her perfect. Chloe smiled to herself. Maybe She had a chance after all.

And just a few inches away from her Red thought the same thing as they played the second movie in the franchise.
