ASRA
"Is that everything you had on your list?" Sebastian asked as we made our way into the square.
"It is. Thank you for showing me around." I answered.
"Don't mention it. Shall we make our way to The Three Broomsticks for a well earned Butterbeer?" Sebastian extended his arm to me with a grin. Before I could take it, a loud clatter sounded from across the square, drawing the attention of the villagers going about their shopping.
"What is that?" I asked Sebastian, taking a step closer to the sound, the hairs on the back of my neck rising with the uncomfortable feeling that something wasn't right. I felt my magic stirring in my chest, the same way it did before the dragon attack, as if it were reacting to an unperceived threat. The crashing continued, and loud shocks reverberated through the cobblestone as a menacing roar boomed from the opposite side of the square.
I watched with concern as a massive troll leapt into the square, roaring furiously while swinging a massive club in its right arm. It was hard not to notice the intricate metal armor the troll wore, and I could feel the magical energy radiating off the metal, a dark and dangerous magic that I knew was anything but good news.
"Merlin's pants..." Sebastian gasped as the troll let out a frustrated cry. Several adults fired curses at the troll, which seemed to only anger it further as it stamped its massive feet, crushing the cobblestone to dust beneath its weight.
"Is this a typical occurrence in the village!?" I asked Sebastian, drawing my wand and entering a defensive stance.
"Definitely not!" Sebastian exclaimed as I fired a stunning spell at the troll, which bounced harmlessly off its armor as it turned towards us with a snarl.
"Shit." I hissed as the troll took a step closer to us, the ground rumbling beneath its feet.
"Confringo!" Sebastian attacked the troll, landing a solid blow to its shoulder, forcing it to stumble back a few steps before swinging its giant club over his head, preparing to bring it down atop us.
"Bombarda!" A voice called from behind the troll, and it was hit with a massive blow to its back, sending the creature turning away from the two of them in a rage. "Draw it away from the village!" I saw the woman now, and recognized the ministry uniform that Fig had described to me. I exhaled with relief as she and a few others continued firing against the troll, luring it after them in its anger.
"Well that was–"
Sebastian didn't even have the time for a clever quip before another shockwave rattled the square, and the building across from them began to fall to rubble as another troll burst through it, this one somehow alarmingly larger than the last.
With a roar the creature charged me. Thinking fast, I threw myself away from Sebastian, rolling out of range of the troll's club as it crashed through the cobblestone where I stood only moments before.
"I think we're on our own for this." I called to Sebastian, getting to my feet and regaining my composure as the troll worked to pull its club from the rubble. "We can't let it hurt anyone!"
"On it." Sebastian nodded, taking a defensive position in front of me and firing a series of spells at the troll's back. They seemed to land hard, infuriating the troll as it began to lumber in our direction, club raised with a roar.
"Stupify!" I shot another stunning spell at the troll as Sebastian bombarded the creature with a barrage of offensive magic, sending it stumbling to its knees. The troll quickly recovered, its armor glowing with a menacing crimson aura that seemed to ring louder with each curse we fired at it.
