Saturday morning (We DO have schools on Saturday, Sad story), Amanda and I went to school quite early. There were still fifteen minutes left for the school to start and the parking lot was deserted except for the field. We could watch the football players warming up for their practice.

"Isn't Max a hottie?" whispered Amanda, as we walked towards the cafeteria. Between the two of us, Amanda was the one who kept harping about all the boys. The one she was currently drooling on—you're right—Maxwell Grant. Last week it was Adam. But she's convinced that Adam is totally into me which I didn't bother correcting. She thought all boys staring at me were automatically into me.

The weather was very much warm today. I had worn white full-sleeved top and dark jeans. Amanda wasn't happy with it, but oddly contented because at least I had worn something other than a black tee.

We settled down at our usual table and took out our notes to discuss how we were going to conduct the meeting. Hers was all about 'How to make friends and influence people' and I had decided that we should conduct a social meet once and invite all the young women in the city. I searched for my papers and realized that I had forgotten it in George's—OUR! —Car.

"Amanda, I forgot the papers in the car. I'll be right back." I mumbled and quickly rushed out of the cafeteria. I patted my pockets to check whether I had the keys. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything, except for a chocolate wrapper... Mentally groaning, I started to walk towards the field. Great, I thought, my luck's so damn spoiled. Now I'll have to face George and his whole team.

"George!" I hollered and waved my hands at him. Adam noticed me and tugged at George's elbow. I waved once again, "George, come here for a minute!" My twin brother looked amused for some reason and jogged towards me. My eyebrows rose at Adam, who followed behind, like a faithful dog.

"What? Tina, I didn't know you loved football players so much." He smirked to himself. Adam laughed beside him and gave me a—WINK! My heart fluttered for a minute and I was so taken aback, I stood staring at him for a moment. Recovering quickly, I shot him a sour look. His shoulders slumped a little.

Adam was quite good looking, a fact which I had never noticed before, or did and never acknowledged it to myself. Tall, tan and well built muscles. His eyes were light brown which gleamed innocently in the sunlight. His hair was pitch-black, almost like a midnight sky.

"I just need the car keys." I said, trying to level my voice into a business-like tone.

"You think I keep it in my pocket while I'm practicing? Duh," George replied snottily which made me feel like a dolt. "It's in the locker room. You know where it is."

I shook my head. Did he think I was always hanging around the locker room? I had never stepped into the boy's locker room. This was the first time I had even come here to the field!

Adam eagerly stepped forward. "I'll take you there if you don't mind. George's actually in a bad mood. Max's just giving him a hard time." George rolled his eyes and then quickly took off, leaving us behind alone.

I was tongue-tied, but managed to give a short nod. Boys never spoke to me as freely as Adam was doing nowadays. Well, Maxwell did say to everyone that I was the one acting all 'Ice-Queen'. He started to lead me towards the room. Quickly opening the locker, I grabbed the keys and turned to say thank you to Adam. He was looking at me with an unreadable expression.

"Thank you." I said and prepared to run out of this room and away from him. Maxwell entered the room then and looked between the two of us before talking to Adam.

"Dude, we need you outside." He said and then his gaze settled back on me. What was his problem? I felt awkward standing between the two guys, especially when one's gaze was intensely fixed on me. Have I landed in a world where boys suddenly take notice of me? I squirmed a bit, watching my shoes.
