Two-bit's First Brunette

Chapter 4

****JJ's POV***
(The next morning)

I skipped down the street to school. I was out of my mind excited about Two-bit. We are telling the gang after school I think. It was nerve racking but I'm sure Two-bit will figure it out. I walked into the school and headed to my first period English class. Now reading isn't really my thing and I do mouth off but I always manage to pull off either an A or a B. For the most part though, I enjoy school. There's always at least one thing I enjoy in each class. I like the writing we do in English, experiments we do in biology, first aid in health, equations in geometry, and I love the music classes all together. Although I'd never think twice about joining band or chorus, I still love it. I actually have a pretty good voice.

The day moved by especially fast and before I knew it I was going to lunch. Lauren sat down next to me having her be my only other friend besides the gang. "Guesssss what?" She asked excitedly.

"Hmmm," I started thinking even though I guessed it was Dallas. Lauren was very predictable. Or at least to me.

"Okay never mind don't guess. Dally AKSED ME OUT!" She practically screamed. "First dates tonight."

"Lauren! That's great!! You've been waiting for this for so long! What are you wearing? Where are you going?" I asked all at once.

"I was hoping you'd help pick?? We are going to the dingo I think."

I nodded. "Yeah I'll help! Meet me in the front after school!!"

Lauren walked out the front doors of the school. "Ready?" She asked and we started walking. I told her about Two-bit and I. She jumped up and down squealing, begging for the details.

I laughed. "There aren't any details."

"Yet..." She half stated and half questioned.

"Yet." I said confirming it all. She laughed and we ran to her house to pick out her date night outfit. How exciting!!

"How's this?" Lauren asked holding up a yellow dress. It was big on her since it was her sisters and to be honest it was kind of ugly.

"Good grandma." I teased. "Now let's just hope Dallas goes blind."

"Oh alright." She said flipping down on her bed. "You pick."

I got up and walked to her closet. I grabbed her black high waisted shorts with sailor style buttons and threw them at her and then picked out a grayish blue blouse. "Wear this and your shorts with you leather boots. Don't bring a jacket because if you're cold Dallas will give you his." She nodded and got dressed.

"Do my hair?" She asked holding up a straightener and I did as I was told. She looked beautiful. I was glad to send her off with my brother.
