Linda:

It's been 3 days since Meg's death. I checked in on Will a few times since he was married to her and he's been just as upset as myself. He's taken time off to grief and I told him I will come by to help him with the funeral arrangements since she was my best mate and he shouldn't have to do it alone when I finish my shift.

The prison was locked down; they were still investigating Meg's death by interviewing everyone. They were even interviewing all the officers they had interviewed me as well but I didn't have any information since it happened right when I clocked in for my shift that day.

A couple new inmates were arriving today. I was in the staff room when we were having a meeting. Vera was in charge since she was acting governor.

"Lock down is still happening. After morning count we are going to be ramping H-Block. Someone must have the murder weapon somewhere."

"What happens if we find the weapon during the cell toss?"

"That person will be slotted for a very long time."

We had continued the meeting and we were leaving the Staff room.

"Ms. Miles can I speak with you for a minute?"

"Sure."

"Since were short staff right now and we have a couple new inmates arriving after breakfast could you Process one of the newbies and do the strip search?"

"Sure. Where would they be going afterwards?"

"There's an empty Cell in H-3."

"Okay."

"How are you holding up though?"

"I'm fine."

"Because I know Meg was your friend."

"She wasn't just a friend. She was my best mate. I know how to separate work from personal feelings."

"Good to know. It might be awhile before Will comes back."

"Yeah. He's in a lot of pain right now and I don't blame him at all."

"If needed, you can have a couple of his shifts."

"Thank You."

After I finished talking with Vera I headed to H-2 for the count before breakfast.
