Strive 189: Ah, Guests

Kibishi's POV

Step! Step! Step!

We all went inside the castle.

And now that we're inside, I could tell this castle is pretty fancy. There's a sliver of light on top of the ceiling stairs in the middle of the room, which leads to the top floor. Speaking of, the floor itself is pretty clean despite it being inside of a layer.

From my left, there are five rooms, each with a shining door. To my right is the same, but I can see an open room. To me, it seems like a kitchen.

I leaned to the right, facing the stairs again, and saw a hidden door under the stairs.

The more I look, the more I realize that the castle seems to be for a royal family or something. 

Inside the castle, there seems to be a blue color- or is it a mixture of blue and green? Hmm, I'm not entirely sure if I'm being honest with you. But to be frank, being in here feels nice, and the air here is much more breathable than out there.

Why does this place feel so... alive?

Well, not 'alive,'  but I feel like this place should've been a messer.

"Wow. And to think this place is inside the upper area of the second layer! Fancy!" Kuma says with a surprised look.

"A little too fancy," Tao commented.

"Yeah, you're right." Jir folded her arms. "This place is supposed to be abandoned, not cleaned up neatly," Jir says in a severe tone.

"Indeed. According to the books I've read, this should be broken down instead of looking tidy. Meaning that someone else has been here before us." Yosei explains earnestly.

"Who would be living in here?" I asked.

"I'm not sure-"

"Oh, guests? It's been too long since this layer has some guests who the creatures haven't eaten." A deep voice says, interrupting Tao.

We all looked at the staircase and saw a figure slowly walking down the steps with his hands in his pocket.

The person was revealed to be a man with dark skin, curly hair, and.... a black jacket with long black pants and shoes.

"What's this?" The man smiles at us as he continues to walk down the stairs. "It's THE Supernaturals in the flesh. The ones who killed the monsters without any mercy. It's a pleasure to meet you all at last."

"Who... are you?"I ask in fear.

"Hmm?" The man tilts his head and stops near the edge of the stairs. "Ah, don't mind me. I'm nothing but a side character. Pay me no mind. I was here to pick up a few things and head down to the middle city. You know, where you guys roam around and gather clues about this weird world."

Step! Step!

"Boss, I finish backing our stuff. Shall we move?" We heard a female voice, and it turned out it was. The female reveals herself with a long brown coat. She had gray hair and white eyes. She had a phony tail with an expressionless look.

"Ah, wonderful! We shall leave before this place gets destroyed." The man says with joy.

Step! Step! Step!

They both started to move again.

"Wait," Tao said.

Before the man can go any further, Tao blocks his way. "Why are you here? No human being can survive out here, let alone with someone else. What are you up to?" Tao asks.
