Miya Centric:
Miya had heard what had been happening and how a female trainee would be joining Stray Kids. She didn't get her hopes up, though. Even though she had been training for quite a bit, there were still other trainees who had trained just as long as her and who were just as talented as her. But she was starting to lose hope that she'll ever debut. She was sitting down in the practice room after practice one day on the ground while her back was against the wall, when Lily of Nmixx approached her. The two had been friends ever since Miya had joined the agency back in 2020, so they were informal and casual with each other. They could also relate to each other as they were both foreigners.
Lily sat down next to Miya on the ground. "Yazumi, JYP's calling you to his office," the Aussie says, referring to the CEO informally.
Miya turned to look at her, a confused expression on her face. "Why, though? Do you think I did anything wrong?" she asks.
The Aussie shrugs before responding, "I'm not sure. You should probably go now, though. He said it was urgent."
Miya's eyebrows raise in surprise. What could the CEO possibly want from her that's so urgent? She gets up from her sitting position on the ground, dusting her clothes off as she does. "Okay, looks like I have to go see him now. Thanks, Lily," she says as the Aussie sends her a reassuring smile in return.
After leaving the practice room, Miya steps into a random elevator. She presses the button that corresponds to the top floor of the building. She lets out a sigh as the elevator begins to move, relieved she's alone in it. She personally found it so awkward to be in an elevator with someone she's not comfortable with.
The elevator soon reaches its destination, the usual high-pitched 'ding' ringing out. She gets out of the elevator, heading to JYP's office. She knocks on the office door, entering once she hears JYP's signal to come in.
He smiles warmly at her. "Ah, Yazumi. You're here. Take a seat. I presume Lily told you?" he says while gesturing to the comically large sofa.
Miya nods as she makes herself comfortable on the sofa. "Yes, she did," she replies, still curious and a little concerned about why she was called.
As if reading her thoughts, JYP says, "I assume you're wondering why you've been called here?" Miya nods again. She was thinking just that.
"You've heard the news about a female trainee joining Stray Kids, right? Well, you're that trainee," JYP says, straight to the point.
Miya's eyes widened as she let out a gasp. She took a moment to process what she had just heard. Was this really happening? She had been waiting for this for years, especially after what happened at her last agency.
She spoke up after a bit, "PD-Nim, as much as I'm grateful. I have to ask... why me?"
JYP chuckles, a knowing glint in his eyes before he responds. "I could have chosen any other trainee, but there's just something about you. I can tell you'll be a very interesting idol. Plus, I think your vocals would be a very good addition to Stray Kids based on your monthly evaluations. Besides, you've been training for quite a while now, haven't you?"
Miya nodded. She was honestly flattered. She couldn't believe she had been chosen by the CEO himself. "When will I officially join the group?" she asks curiously.
"You'll be introduced to Stay immediately, but you'll only officially join in Stray Kids' next Korean comeback," JYP answers.
Miya breathed out a sigh of relief. At least she'll have some time to adjust before officially becoming an idol. She then asks some more questions, JYP answering all of them patiently.
After everything has been asked and answered, JYP says, "Are you going to use a stage name? Or are you fine with just using your real name?"
Miya thinks for a bit, deciding that she wants even a little bit of separation between her public and private life. "Miya," she says after a few seconds.
JYP nods, "Miya... simple, but efficient. I like it. I think you're good to go. You'll move in with the members next week."
Miya nods in acknowledgement. She walks to the door of the office and is about to leave when she accidentally blurts out something she meant to say in her head.
"I can't wait to tell Kyra about this. She'll be so excited!" she pauses and turns around when she realizes she had said it out loud, mentally slapping herself. She was so excited she had been out of it for a second.
JYP raises an eyebrow curiously. "What did you just say?" he asks. His tone held no malice in it, just curiosity.
Miya thinks for a bit, deciding to come clean. It'll be revealed soon, anyway. "Right. Kyra from Black Forest is my older sister," she says calmly, not knowing how JYP is going to take the information.
JYP's eyes widen in shock. He definitely wasn't expecting that. He doesn't say anything for a bit, seemingly in thought. "Why didn't you say anything earlier?" he asks inquisitively.
Miya lets out a sigh before answering earnestly. "I didn't want to be known as 'Kyra's sister'. I want to make a name for myself," she says.
JYP leans back in his seat. She truly was going to be an interesting idol. "That's admirable of you," he comments before continuing. "You can go now. I'll call the boys and tell them later."
"Okay. Thank you, PD-Nim," she says before turning around again and finally going out of the office. When she got out, Lily was standing by the office door waiting for her.
"What did he say?" Lily asks as she grabs Miya by the arm and begins to drag her to an elevator.
Miya chuckles at her friend's enthusiasm. "Looks like I've gotten into Stray Kids," she responds cheerfully, not knowing what she's just gotten into.
"I'm so happy for you!" Lily squeals, giving her a quick hug before they get into the elevator.
