Miya Centric:
A week passed, and it was finally the day of the introductory video that Miya had been dreading. The boys were told about it, of course. And boy, were they not happy. But there was nothing they could do about it.Miya was currently in one of the JYPE building's rooms. It was where the video would be done. It had also been especially designed for the event. She was honestly surprised by how much effort had been put into it.
The room is spacious with white walls and a polished wooden floor, giving it a sleek and professional look. On one side of the room, there's a large LED screen that displays the Stray Kids logo, subtly animated to give a dynamic and energetic vibe.
In the centre, there's a stylish, minimalistic setup with a long black couch comfortable enough for multiple people to sit on. The couch is complemented by a small coffee table with a few decorations like a simple vase with fresh flowers and a few K-pop magazines.
Behind the couch, there's a large window that lets in natural light, softening the room's atmosphere. Light rigs are set up around the space, focusing on the couch area to ensure that Stray Kids, especially Miya, will be well-lit for the video.
On another wall, there are posters and framed pictures of Stray Kids' previous albums and concerts, subtly reminding viewers of the group's achievements.
She had gone there way too early, feeling anxious. She paced around the room, trying to prepare herself for the inevitable.
The door to the room opened suddenly, startling Miya. She turned around to see the very people she was going to do the video with enter the room. She gulped nervously as they stalked over to her.
Seungmin rolls his eyes, his nostrils flaring in annoyance. "Okay. Let's just get this over with. And don't you dare not act like everything's fine. Got it?" he says quietly to her, his voice dripping with venom.
Miya just nods, shuddering at his tone. They then walk over to the couch, seating down and getting settled in positions where they can all be seen clearly by the camera. Miya was in the middle, as she was the main subject of the video.
A staff member turns on the professional camera set up in front of the couch once given the green light. There would be no director to guide them as everyone had already been informed of how to go about the process prior.
Immediately, the camera starts rolling, and the boys' expressions all change. They become all bright and smiley, looking excited to be doing this.
"Step out. Hello, we are Stray Kids!" the boys say one of Stray Kids' usual greeting in unison as they wave at the camera.
"Today, we're here for a very special reason..." Chan starts off.
"And that is... to introduce our newest member!" Felix continues, gesturing towards Miya.
The others break out into cheers and applause, hyping her up. She just tried not to cringe at how rehearsed it sounded. Minho gives her a look that screams, 'Well, introduce yourself!'
Miya clears her throat, trying to collect her thoughts as she looks directly at the camera. "Hello, Stay! My name is Hayashi Yazumi, but you can call me Miya. I'll be a vocalist, dancer, center and maknae in the group. I hope you will find it in you to accept me," she says, putting on an excited but polite tone. The boys nod in approval.
Han, who had been reading the comments coming in through the live chat, spoke up. "Okay, Miya. Looks like Stay has some questions for you."
Miya nods, hoping some of them wouldn't be anything too weird. "Go ahead. I'll try to answer as many questions as possible," she says, her smooth voice filling the room.
Jeongin nods, leaning in to look at the comments. "Hmm... First up, how old are you?" He decided to start off with a basic question.
Miya answers calmly before suddenly feeling a pair of arms wrap around her torso. She looks around in surprise, only to see that Felix was giving her a side hug.
"Just go with it. Look natural," he whispers in her ear, his voice deep like it usually was.
She just nods and plays along. It would look weird and suspicious if she pushed him away like she wanted to anyway.
Changbin was the next to read out another question. Strangely enough, the others hadn't seemed to notice the interaction between her and Felix.
Time skip:
It had been some time since the introductory video had ended. It had actually gone decently. Apart from the warning stares sent her way occasionally, nothing else happened. Stay seemed genuinely interested in her, which made her able to enjoy the experience just a little bit more.Once they were finally able to leave, the boys rushed to the door of the room. Their cheerful facades had finally dropped. As they went out, however, Hyunjin stayed behind.
"You know... your acting actually wasn't as bad as I expected. You surprised me," he commented before following the others out of the room, leaving Miya surprised.
On her walk back to the dorm, she processed everything. Was Felix really just trying to act natural, or was it something else? The same goes for Hyunjin's "compliment". Maybe they were actually starting to get used to her? Those were some of the thoughts that flooded her mind. She brushed that last thought off, however. She didn't want to be overzealous.
When she arrived, the living room was empty. 'Huh? Odd,' she thought as she raised an eyebrow. From what she had learnt from living with the boys, they would usually be in the living room after a long day to relax. She also felt fatigued for some reason, which was very unusual for her. She shrugged her first observation off, though. Guess that just meant more peace for her.
Once she reached her room, she plopped down onto her bed like she usually did after a long day. She pulled out her phone, opening YouTube. She had to admit. She was kind of curious to see what Stay thought of her after the video.
Going to Stray Kids' official YouTube channel, she clicked on the video. It was at the top of the page. She began to read as she scrolled through the comments.
'She's so pretty' 'She seems talented as well' 'It's so obvious that She's Kyra's sister. Talent and visuals run in the family'
She smiles as she reads the comments. Even though her members hated her, at least the fandom liked her. She was lucky that Stray Kids had one of the less toxic fandoms. She also felt like a good number of her supporters were be-friends, Black Forest's fandom. Especially Kyra biased be-friends. But just as there's good, there has to be some bad as well.
'She's honestly overhyped. Why did they even add her to the group?' 'She was probably just picked because of connections. Or she did something to gain favouritism'
She let out a sigh as she saw the negative comments. She knew they were part and parcel of idol life. It still stung to read, though.
Another wave of fatigue suddenly washes over her. She decides to stop reading for and take a nap. At least falling asleep will be easier this time.
