Julie Bianchi never had an easy life. When she was first born, her parents didn't take care of her like they should have. They neglected her more and more, until her big brother had to step in, feeding her, changing her, and basically doing everything else to help her grow into a beautiful young lady.
That's how, Jules Bianchi became the most important person Julie had in her life, she was basically following him everywhere, acting like a lost puppy. Jules never considered Julie to be a nuisance, he loved her very dearly and so did his friends.
But, the both of them being 8 years apart, and with Jules's passion for moto sport, he began spending more and more time away from the house, and therefore, away from Julie. Fortunately, she was a very understanding child, and got the fact that racing was extremely important to Jules and to his future.
The racing world was something Julie's parents didn't want her to be apart of. They were old fashioned as for her education. Jules was the golden child, so their parents let him do everything he wanted. But Julie, couldn't be mad at her brother for it, she loved him to pieces. So while her brother was away at the karting track with their dad, because he owns it, she had to follow her mother's stricts instructions. She wanted her to be and act like a proper lady.
At first, Julie didn't want to do as her mother said, so she threw a few tantrums which unfortunately earned her quite a few punishments. She soon understood that in order to survive in this house without her brother, she had to follow the orders. So she did. The only moments she allowed herself to act carefree was when she was alone with Jules. She also, never had the courage to tell him what happened in the household once he was gone. She knew if she did, he would argue with their parents and that would soon or later fall on her.
But something changed her when she was ten. She met one of her brother's friend. Someone named Charles and who was the same age as her. she had often heard of him before, Jules talked highly of him ever since they had met, saying that Charles had a lot of talent. The year before, in 2006, he won the Claude Secq trophy and arrived second the French trophy PACA, which he had won the previous year. Julie was so excited to meet Charles, he seemed like a really nice person to her and she didn't know anyone of her age as she was home-schooled and only had met Jules's friends.
Their first encounter was quite cute. Julie's parents not being there allowed her to act freely, like herself which meant that she was incredibly curious, asking Charles a thousand and one questions about him, his family, his racing career. There, Julie learned that Charles had started racing in competitions two years before, in 2005 after 3 years training in her dad's karting. She also learned that he had two brothers, Arthur who was 3 years younger, and Lorenzo who was a year older ; their mother, Pascale was wed to Hervé, their father, being respectively a hairdresser, and a retired pilot.
Charles also learned a few things about Julie, he learned that she was home-schooled, that she loved her brother dearly which he knew Jules did reciprocate, and another few futile things. But what he did notice, was that he didn't learn as much things as she did. She didn't really talk about her life at home despite being home-schooled. At that time, he shrugged it off, thinking it wasn't that big of a thing.
Jules, was so moved to see his little sister making friends, this friend being someone who he knew well. He knew she was home-schooled and he didn't like that, trying to talk their mother out of it but he was unsuccessful. So he tried to introduce as much people he could to Julie, hoping she still had a social life but nothing could compare to someone her own age, being so young.
When it was time for Charles to go home, him and Julie had already formed a close bond. They didn't even play, only talked for hours. His mother was the one to pick him up and Julie could only take a glimpse. She was met with a woman looking as kind as she was beautiful. Pascale thanked Jules for letting Charles stay over and before she knew it, they were already gone. When Jules went back inside, Julie made him promise to bring Charles over whenever he could, and Jules, being the loving brother he was, agreed.
