My sneakers scuff against the floor as I go through the jump again, but I know as soon as I land that I've messed up—I'm on the wrong foot.
"Stop," Coach calls out, her voice cutting through the silence. She walks over, her expression tight. "What was that?"
I can feel my face flush. "I landed wrong."
"Yeah, you did," she says, not missing a beat. "And why do you think that happened?"
"I don't know," I reply, even though I do—I wasn't focused enough.
She sighs, clearly frustrated. "You can't afford to be sloppy, even during off-ice. This is where you're supposed to drill it into your body until it's automatic. If you're not landing right here, what do you think will happen when you're on the ice?"
I nod, taking in what she's saying. She's not yelling, but I can hear the disappointment in her voice, and it stings more than if she were.
"Look," she continues, her tone softening a bit, "I know you can do this. You've done it right a hundred times before. But you've got to be consistent. It's not just about doing it once; it's about doing it right every single time."
I take a deep breath and reset my stance. I know she's right—I have to be more focused, more precise. I close my eyes for a second, picturing the jump and the correct landing. When I open them, I'm ready to try again.
"Okay," she says, stepping back. "Let's see it."
This time, I push off with more determination, and when I land, it's solid, on the correct foot. I glance at her, and she gives a small nod, not smiling, but at least satisfied.
"Better," she says. "Now do it again. Consistency is key."
I did the jump again and landed correctly "good now we are doing 30 stair runs, you have 2 minutes break" she says as she looks at her watch and I just nod grabbing my water bottle.
"3...2..1..go!" She says and I start going up and down the stairs.

I took a phat nap.
Like drool on your pillow phat nap.
And it was good. After training I was drained so I took a lovely warm shower before going to bed cause no one was in the dorm because they were all out doing things.
I took out my phone when I hear it buzz and it's a notification from Nicholas.
