Kate invited you to a party when you left her house the other night. She texted you to let you know it's in about 3 hours and you're spinning, not literally, but it's very hard to muster up the courage to put on an outfit people will actively perceive, and to actually interact with others. She didn't even say where it was - or what to wear. So now you actually have to call her.

"Kate, I swear to God, pick up." You say by the 3rd ring.

By the fourth she's saying, "Hi!!"

"Yeah, hi, what am I supposed to wear, should I bring something - like a bag? Who's gonna be there?" You're speaking not confidently for the first time in a long time.

"Ah I see..." She starts, "Want me to come over and help?" She asks all too enthusiastically.

"Why do you always want to be near me?" You sigh, picking yourself up, starting the wait for her arrival, "Fine."

"Okay, yesss, I'll be there in a few." She says mousy-like and hangs up.

"Hey," Kate greets, holding a bag you can tell is stuffed too full of something, as you let her in, for the second time.

"This is kinda super different since the last time I was here." She analyzes the space.

"I think you're remembering wrongly, or not remembering at all." You shrug, "I haven't changed anything."

You begin to walk through the corridor to your bedroom, assuming she follow.

"I really don't know what I'm supposed to wear." You say letting her into your room behind your own steps, gesturing to your already open closet - thankfully it wasn't a mess right now.

"You're not 'supposed' to wear anything." She points, "But there's always some kind of vibe you're supposed to go for." She shrugs, looking at your clothing options, and suddenly you feel like she's judging you.

"Also, it's not really a 'party' it's more like a get together." She continues, "So something laid back, but nice." She shrugs

"I don't understand any of this, I never have." You sigh.

"And that's why I'm here." She nudges you and winks.

"So, a get together, you still haven't told me who with?" You slump back onto the edge of your bed as you watch her file through your closet.

"You'll see, I don't want to scare you." She says, holding up a piece and making a decision before returning it to the rack.

"What the hell do you mean 'scare me'? Now I'm more intrigued, and concerned." you sit up a bit, hoping for a real response.

"Some people wanted me to invite you, relax please." She turns her head towards you.

"Alright," You drag with a sigh.

"Here, wear this." She turns to you holding up one of the only button-ups you own, with a skull on the left shoulder, and a pair of faded black jeans, "You have literally nothing feminine."
