CHAPTER 40

" that woman likes you. " I  coldly speaks behind her making her stunned.

She turned around to face me with a confusion face while holding something on her palm. I stare at her coldly indirectly saying that I am pissed right now.

How dare that woman stared at mybaby like she's in love. I get that serenity is so lovable whenever she smile but that way that woman stare makes me wants to punch her face.

" r-riri what are you saying? That woman was my enemy here." Serenity explain then approaches me with a cute expression.

Fuck! That face...

I remain emotionless making her pout her lip. Staring at her lips makes me want to devour her.

" So? It's okay though since you're single and I bet perhaps that woman is definitely single as well." I said cause I remembered five years ago that she broke with me on the of her birthday.

Her mouth hangs open as her eye brows form into line after hearing what I just said.

" W-what? " she stammer and I can see mixed emotions in her eyes. The way her eye balls move in other directions indicates that she's confused.

" what do you mean by what?" I said sarcastically to her.

Five years ago, I was devastated after reading her text exactly on the day of her birthday and on the day of her, leaving me for the second time. Before I came here, I was over thinking if she found someone else in her life.

" I...what do you mean that I am single?" she asked after she just recovered. I smirk at her then cross my arms, being intimidating in front of her.

" yeah you're single. Haven't you remember that you texted me saying that you're breaking up with me? Exactly on the day of your birthday and on the day of you leaving me...for the second time." I said straight to her face.

It makes me confused just by looking at her eyes with so many emotions. Her mouth opens like she wants to say something, but couldn't voice out.

" cat got your tongue huh. " I said, I turned my back at her and was about to step in when she hold my hand.

My heart beats faster that it's normal beats when I felt that electric feeling the moment she touched me.

" I-I don't...know...what are you saying." Serenity said in low tone voice and I'm hundred percent sure that her head is facing the ground now.

My forehead knotted after hearing it, what does she mean she doesn't know?

" what do you mean you don't know?! " I said raising my voice this time as I face her again, making her flinch. I was guilty after, but I need to know something.

" you don't know, what I went through when you left me that day? I was devastated after finding out that you and your family left the country. I've been calling you, texting you for hundred times but you didn't answer any of it. I was nearly out of my mind when you texted me that three words. But I didn't give up because I know you love me and I kept your promise that you're willing to take the risk, just like how I take the risk..." I said breathing heavily, not taking my eyes on her.

I waited for her to speak, but she didn't so I decided to continue my words.

" Months later, I decided to find you after being devastated. I let Maggie took over my position in her own school, just to focus on finding you in every country that I can thing of. Two years of searching but still couldn't find you, three years and still the same. Four years where I find myself in a difficult situation, I was on the verge of giving up but whenever I look through our photos together in my phone, it make me inspired to find you more. I promise to myself that you are the only woman in my life until the end. The only light in my darkest times because you are my moon. Five years after, my private investigator called and says that he found you. Hearing that, I didn't think twice to almost book a flight but my twin stop me. She brought a certain person who knows about you, about what happened to you. She tells me that your parents abandoned you three years ago and the dirty stuff that your parents doings. I book a flight after that, but my freaking cousin cancelled it that's why it took me almost forever to see you again. " I said as I hold her chin and make her look up to me. My face soften as I saw her face drenched by her tears.

" but my world almost collapsed when I knew that you got engaged, serenity. " I said as I remembered it, making her mouth hangs open and her expression seems scared.

" r-riri let me explain please." she beg as she holds my hand.

I look around as I felt that someone is looking at us and there I saw miss Alice. I sigh and decided to take serenity in a hotel where I stayed at, to talk us privately.

" lets go, let's talk somewhere private. " I said I drag her out the shop and immediately when straight on my car.

I made sure that she's comfortably seated at the passenger seat before I go back at the house to talk to miss alice.

" Miss Alice..." I didn't finished my words when she nodded.

" go, talk in private and please be gentle with her. She went through hard times and please listen to her side and let her explain." miss Alice said gently and I can see how much she treasure serenity is. I nodded at her as I bids my goodbye for a mean time.

The car is field with loud silence as I drive through the hotel. I glance at serenity and saw that she looking at the view outside the window. I notice that her hand is caressing her chest makes me feel guilty about earlier, where I raise my voice at her.  I decided to park my car on the side of the road and face her.

" serenity." I said gently as I reach her hand and made her look at me.

I almost cry when I saw that she's crying silently. I pulled her immediately unto me to hug her gently as I rub her back.

" hey, I'm sorry if I raised my voice at you earlier." I whisper and saying sorry repeatedly. Seconds after, I felt her arms encircled around my waist. She hug me tightly as she cries on my chest.

I wipe my tear on my eyes as I listen to her silent cry. Its so stupid of me raising my voice when I knew that she a weak heart.

" p-please....listen...to me...first." she said while sniffing and hardly speak due to crying hard. I nodded as I continue to cares her back.

" I will I will, baby. Stop crying now." I whisper to make her calm.
