A/n: Not beta read, so all mistakes are mine!
I know how annoying it is to have to open up your own copy of the book or a PDF to read alongside a fanfic, so I won't be doing the whole type a paragraph then delete the middle text and add a "...". That being said, I will be adding the "..." if it is asked of me. As you all can assume, I do not own the Percy Jackson books or characters in any way, all rights belong to Rick Riordan and Disney. And I do not receive any monetary or other type of payment for making this fanfic, and never will. If you want to read the Percy Jackson books and can't afford to buy your own copy, go to your local library and see if you can check one out. I'm one of those people who like to chill at the library and work on my computer more than I check out books, but it is still a good option if you have one near you.
I have rewritten the ending of the last chapter, nothing major but it does regard the characters who are going to be participating in the reading.
Also, I have literally 14 pages of notes about don't look down ('cause you are royalty) on Google Docs 😭 I am serious about trying to get these characters right, so plz correct me if you think anything is ooc compared to CommanderBear's fanfic (other than some ships- those are pretty much planned :) But if you have any suggestions of ships you would want to see, comment them)
TLDR; I do not own Percy Jackson, I do not and will not ever get any form of payment for making this fanfic, and the text from the book is in bold while things I changed are underlined
Percy should have expected this. Well, he could never have expected he would be teleported to a random room-house-palace (seriously, what was this place?) with his friends, recently acquired family, and the most important and influential governing people in Olympia. But with how crazy and unexpected his life had been lately, this was really just another layer that he would have to deal with.
But yet again, having an unknown book named after you, one that some kind of God-like or Omnipotent being had sent to you. That was crazy.
Percy almost couldn't believe it. But having recently found out that his father-who hadn't shown up once during Percy's entire life-was a King of an unknown country, Percy knew how to deal with the unexpected.
Looking around the room at everyone, Percy could tell some people didn't know how to deal with not knowing everything about a situation, or being powerless to prevent things from happening. His friends were doing okay-ish, and Rachel was really helping Grover keep his cool.
The Royal family was doing better than Percy would have expected. The younger members, particularly Nico, were scared. The older ones, like Percy's father and uncles, weren't as outwardly affected. Percy suspected that had something to do with the fact that they were literally royalty. Weird things must happen to them all the time.
Example A, Percy himself was something unexpected that had happened to most of the family quite recently. The reason for Percy being brought into the spotlight had him wincing, the royal family and country had also just gone through a major loss. The loss of their father, grandfather, and King: Kronos.
Percy had never known the man, so he wasn't really attached to him at all, but it hurt. To lose a Grandfather he never got the chance to meet or know about before he was gone. It was why Percy couldn't even imagine the pain his father must be and have been going through these past couple of months.
Finishing looking around the room, Percy saw a lot of the governors. The higher-ranking ones were much like Poseidon, their expressions stoic and unfeeling about the situation. The ones sitting in the back, however, Percy could tell were struggling.
