"Wait, so we're just doing this? Do we even know how many of these 'myth breaks' we'll have to do?" Zeus asked, crossing his arms over his chest while frowning.

Poseidon sighed, did his brother have to oppose his every decision? Even as King, he couldn't escape his little brother's demanding attitude. "It would not do us any good to deny something the person who brought us here wants us to do."

Poseidon let the 'or else' stay silent but everyone understood. They didn't know who or what brought them here, so it would pay to stay vigilant until they were able to find out more about their situation.

Zeus hated feeling inferior to anyone. His family, civilians who thought they knew better, government members, anyone. He hated it when people tried to order him around. He was above that kind of treatment.

He felt it constantly from his brothers. They would use their age as an excuse, for a while Hades even used that he was the Crown Prince to get Zeus to do things. Even if Hades never wanted the position, he still exploited it as much as he could.

Zeus knew he never had much of a chance at being King. He was third in line when he was younger, after all. When Hades had abdicated, he felt a slight amount of hope creep into his chest. It wasn't much, but it was enough for him to feel disappointed yet again when he realized Poseidon was willing and would take the throne as he was older than Zeus.

If Zeus had the throne, he could do amazing things. He would finally be able to do the things he had been dreaming of since he was a child.

It was more than just a crown, it was power. Authority. Something Zeus craved but knew he was unlikely to ever get much of. Sure he got plenty of attention, usually when some sort of scandal of his came to light, but that wasn't really what he wanted.

Hades made a decision Zeus had thought about doing himself. By becoming a politician, he would have some of the power he was missing out on with his place in line to the throne. After Poseidon, Triton was the next in line. As Triton did not have an heir yet, the throne would go to Perseus after him. Which was an even worse situation that Zeus prayed would never happen.
